Canucks current pace is 125 points but @domluszczyszyn and his model have the Canucks at 104 points .604 hockey the rest of the way. |

Y traded him when it got out that he wanted over $7M AAV on his next contract. Hronek's D was not as good in Detroit, but was much better than Chiarot. - HenryHockey
He probably could get 7M x 8 doing what he’s accomplishing this season.
Add Petey’s raise means Canucks need about 7M more cap space which comes out of Myers and Beauv gone. Their replacements around league minimum and cap going up leaves room for one more Hronek type add. |

for those that have asked, #Canucks Tocchet says Guillaume Brisebois has skated off and on, but is still dealing with ‘some issues’. Was injured in preseason game vs Seattle in Abbotsford poop luck for Brise. |

I see the strength of schedule numbers and such, Canucks ranked near the top but I don't know if those numbers change as the season plays out.
Played 15 games and at the start of the season at least 9 games so far have been against what most picked as playoff teams to start the season. I don't think anyone had Nashville and Edmonton as 30th and 31st after 15 games.
Right now looking at the standings, the only teams I'd say fall back a bit would be Anaheim and Detroit. (from .600 to maybe .530 ish)
I doubt Detroit is going to stay ahead of Toronto and Tampa Bay by seasons end.
New Jersey once Jack is back will rise up again. |

Pettersson, Kuzmenko, Mikheyev have been not so great 5v5 this season. 9-9 so far. - manvanfan
Some good counter cherry picking there Mini. Here's some more for ya.
61% ozone starts for Garland.
54.9% for Beauv
40.7% for Hogs
41.3% for Lafferty. |

I don't think you know what cherry picking is if you think I cherry picked some examples of other bottom 6 players on the same team that had the same numbers.
It doesn't make much sense at all why you would compare ozone starts between those players. Two don't get any power player time. Two don't get any penalty kill time. One gets neither power play or penalty kill.
You might want to just stick to defending the giraffe. |

What was noticeable is the gap between the top 3 and rest of division. I said if this is maintained they make the playoffs as teams below not likely to make up such a gap. Canucks would literally have to fall off a cliff meaning most of the line up is out injured.
So it’s looking good after so many years of dread. That was all anyone asked is if the Canucks got off to a good start for once then they could have a decent season. |

Think of it this way. Take Tyler Myers. Turn down the offensive instincts a bit, crank up the physicality to 11, and you’ve got a pretty good idea of what Zadorov is as an NHL defender.
And just because Myers is currently playing the best hockey of his Vancouver career, doesn’t mean that the Canucks need a second Myers.
I thought this part was pretty good funny too. |

He’s mocking you for the source of the article.
Anyway, I don’t see Canucks blowing any wad of assets on the Flames who’ll be asking too much. Big Z can hit but he’s not a top 4.
Like to see a move for Pesce. But Canucks probably stun us with someone no one thought about like in the Hronek trade. |

The current pace of 125pts is probably not sustainable (love using that word), saying that I am not a fan of Dom and his metrics but 104 would be a welcomed outcome with the change over of players and coaches.
I would like to believe they could hit 110 plus, which would right there with Vegas, although a 21pt increase from last season does seem realistic. |

I knew he was. I just didn't care. I'm not soft and triggered so easily as some
Still can't believe that Detroit let Hronek go. I don't know if Carolina makes that same mistake. Carolina traded Justin Faulk to the Blues, got sweet (frank) all for Faulk. Literally ended up being a 5th and 7th round picks.
Canucks had interest in Brayden Pachel out of Vegas but Vegas is doing some shady stuff with some indefinite long term injuries to players that no one knows what their injuries even are. So Vegas won't lose someone.
Other options could be
Alexander Carrier NSH
Dante Fabbro NSH
Sean Walker PHI
Adam Boqvist CLB
Henri Jokiharju BUF

That there is no major injuries.
Three weeks ago Dom's model had Canucks at 96 points. So at least his model isn't showing a huge regression coming |

#Canucks have given up 11 PPG in first 50 short handed situations this season (78%/19th in NHL). Still not great, but a marked improvement.
Last year, had given up 19 in first 50 (62%/32nd)
In 15 games last season Canucks had given up 60 goals all together. This year 33.

I have no idea who this Dom guy is but I have seen hundreds of comments about him and every message is the same. Everyone thinks he is an idiot.

I think if you have a certain number of 'followers"(sometimes confused with 'swallowers'), it somehow validates one's idiocy. |

If you relish subjective stats and thinking that by analyzing useless metrics gives you a more insightful and intelligence over others that just enjoy watching the game, then Doms your man, nothing can match the expected for and against or sustainability, not even real goals for and against. |

Only because it will delay the game by highlighting 9 years of futility, turmoil and apathy.
Canucks 6 expected goals for
Islanders 2 expected goals against |
