You’re a true fan watching the games. I find them to be unwatchable at this point
- Crushers68

Definitely unwatchable lol. I've only been watching to root for losses and just hoping to see certain players hit goal/point totals(like 20 goals for Holtz, seeing if Timo can hit 30 goals even though he was awful/hurt most of the year, seeing if Luke can get hot and hit 50, Jack/Nico/Bratt, ect). That atleast gives me things to cheer for or be excited for lol.

Mostly just want them to lose out though so there's no way Fitz can justify bringing Green back lol.

Would be nice to get the 1OA again, but if I recall you can't move up more than 5 spots now, so that's out. But a top 10 pick would be nice...and a new and capable coach

Yeah you can only move up 10 spots now, so only the bottom 11 have a shot at #1. Not expecting to win the lottery again but I'm very curious if Fitz will actually trade the pick if it stays in the 10-12 range. I assume he'd keep it and just trade next years 1st.

Just something to talk about, ESPN mock draft

Carter Yakemchuk, D, Calgary (WHL)

The Devils add another solid prospect to their system with Yakemchuk, a 6-3 right-handed defenseman. One of the oldest players in the draft class, Yakemchuk has a highlight reel that's a mile long featuring goals and big hits, but it comes with a lot of risk.

Similar to the other young defensemen in New Jersey, Yakemchuk needs to develop his decision-making in key situations. He's prone to turnovers because he's always trying to make positive things happen on the ice. Though as Devils GM Tom Fitzgerald says, "I'd rather tame a tiger than try to paint spots on a kitty cat."

Yakemchuk is not only one of the highest-scoring defensemen in the draft, but he's also one of the most penalized. He has a pro shot and a pro mean streak, which will complement New Jersey's crop of young players very well.

I know I've been saying this for 2 weeks, but other teams keep losing (I knew Philly would play themselves out of a playoff spot.. called it over a month ago). But tonight.. tonight is truly the nail in the damn coffin. Awful. Abysmal. Horrible. Unwatchable is an understatement. It's scary that our stars are playing so dumb. Makes me nervous this could carry over to next season.

It seems all but a few have mailed it in only for us to draft a bust or trade a top 10 pick for an over the hill goalie

I wasn't expecting presidents trophy or anything but was expecting a better showing

That's what happens when you have extended absences from your best players because of injuries and sit on poop goaltending until the deadline. Fitz could've prevented it, but he chose to wait. They'll probably be a playoff team next season, especially after offseason changes, but yeah they're by far the most disappointing team in the league this year.

Great outcome last night though tbh, need more of those in the final 7 games. Green cannot return as the coach.

So what are you guys hoping happens with this team in the offseason? Both in terms of roster related or just in general? For me, in no particular order:

-Hire a completely new coaching staff, including getting rid of Rogalski and bringing in a new goalie coach.

-Get a legit #1 goalie, preferably Saros or Ullmark. Dont hate Markstrom but hes my last resort if the prices are way too absurd on everybody else(i'd pay up for Saros though)

-Shoulder surgery for Jack if the rumors are true, so this recurring issue doesnt continue(would prefer him to be shut down now to get a head start on it).

-Total revamp of the bottom 6 forwards, add more skilled grit(players like Stephenson/Mantha/Domi/Bertuzzi/Foegele). This needs to be the top priority in terms of actual roster moves imo, outside of getting a goalie. Our depth this year has been awful, especially after losing McLeod.

-I would be fine running back the D but if there is a move to be made it'd probably be to move one of Siegs or Bahl and try to add legit top 4 LHD(Brady Skjei maybe?).

Im hoping Nico is stripped of his C, because he is a useless Captain - too docile. Just takes hits and skates away with his head down. Totally unacceptable.

im hoping Jack gets his A stripped for developing an ego. the kid literally stops playing to whine at the ref. He tells other players people come to see him play. Jack needs to get his bell rung, by idk, a real captain. Jack never deserved a letter, unless the meaning of wearing a letter changed from a person that leads to a person that scores, which means actually nothing.

We need a goalie in his 20s. Not to overpay for an almost retired Markstrom. I would overpay for someone like Saros.

We need to get tough, this goes with stripping Nico and Jack of the letters.

Stay clear of all these "veteran" coaches that seem to always be out of a job but always on EPSN or another network being an analyst. If they were such good coaches, they wouldnt constantly be out of jobs.

Find a great coach overseas, or in NCAA and preferably a coach that makes Defense his priority.

New coaching staff but not just go with an ex devils player for nostalgia like many devils fans seem intent on such as brylin

If Sullivan is let go from the pens then I'd be open for that but don't want some old coach that hasn't performed successfully recently and can get most out of the team

A true number 1 goalie that can grow with the team, like Saros. Don't think we should go for markstrom as we aren't ready next season and can't see him playing at high level for when we are so just throwing assets away

We need stronger depth players such as Domi or mantha but not just tough players that only know how to fight and not bring anything else

Figure out what to do with holtz, do we give him an opportunity or do they feel he isn't going to get to the level we would like and maybe see if we can make a hockey trade

Get better bottom pair dmen
Hamilton nemec
Hughes Marino
Siegs ?

Marino and siegs need to have bounce back seasons or were they just playing above expectations before

3 start-of-the-third-period leads blown under Green in only 15 games(compared to only 1 under Ruff in 61 games). Going well for the 'don't bring back Green' camp!

Logged onto Facebook and saw a bunch of Devils fans celebrating so thought we may have won but I guess celebrating a fight is more than exciting than winning a game against a rival.

Had what 21 shots against a team missing 2 top 4 dmen and others playing extended mins due to all the game misconducts and couldn't win

And seeing talk of how the rags will be out in the 1st round. I mean would be great but we shouldn't be talking this year as we heavily underperformed and the rags have a chance to win the presidents trophy

But hey we won a fight

Devils have signed Dylan Wendt out of Western Michigan. 23 goals and 44 points in 38 games, and elite prospects had him as the 7th-ranked player among the college free agents. Utica reinforcement i imagine as they push for a playoff spot.

No idea if he'll ever play for the Devils but from what people are saying, his strengths are board play, working off the cycle, and getting to the front of the net.

Looks like the team is finally being smart with Jack and shutting him down. Should've happened a month or two ago, but he's out tonight and Green says "we'll see" in regards to if it's long term.

Wouldn't be shocked to see the team announce his surgery in the next few weeks.

Gona be watching all the scoreboards the next 5 games. That race for the wildcard spot and bottom seed in the division is crazy.
