It's so insane to me that Juulsen keeps getting to play. He hasn't had a single good game yet this year - NorthNuck
Depth & injuries are the obvious reasons. 1st up needed cap space next up is trading for D or waiting til the UFA season. |

The narrative that we gave up a second round pick and a reliable 3C for a Sh1t Dman? - VANTEL
You're missing two things, the long game and the bigger picture. They traded him and a 2nd round pick (cost to gain cap space) for a million dollars in cap space, they didn't care about Stillman. Who, Stillman, they later traded for more cap relief and a non-roster prospect, thereby gaining more cap space. |

Was talking with a CAR guy who also believes VAN/CAR have been talking trade. Says DeAngelo needs to play with a defensively responsible partner. When he played with Slavin he looked great. Also thinks Noesen and/or Necas have been talked about. #Canucks

Well I have news for you, most new GMs walk into a mess. Teams don't let GMs go because they are doing an outstanding job. Gillis walked into a mess, Benning did also and now PA.

This is true, most new GM's are there for a reason, because the other guy lost the plot and things aren't going well. Rarely do you see a GM move along because he's winning too much. |

I am not missing anything. It was just more continuation of the same crap that went on for the last 11 years.
Like I said PA has gotten better this year.

He was never bad, you just didn't understand what he was doing playing "small-ball" with those moves. At the time neither did I, for the record. |

They used up the cap space quickly after trading D!ckinson. Dermott and some fringe forward/s which no one will ever remember. There ended up being nothing gained from that trade because Dermott ended up only playing something like 17 games and cap gains were squandered. |

Carolina has been interested in Hoglander. I don't really like DeAngelo so I hope they don't make a trade.
Wait unless it's Garland for DeAngelo and Noesen. I'd be okay with that. |

Yes, as I said, they were playing small-ball to try and make things work. It neither affected things positively or negatively. Although it could be argued they gave away a good second round pick to try and see what they could accomplish. Which is bad, in my books. |

I’ve got trade ideas with the Canes & Habs. Cannot bother posting when it goes nowhere in here. Bear is most likely plan B but maintain a bigger fish needed or next UFA season. |

He was as bad as the priors. As Booner mentioned in his post burning the cap he gained for bad players and giving up picks. All too familiar.
Back then you would hear a lot of stuff about ownership would not allow it. Now you hear nothing about ownership and the team has improved.
Even dating back to Gillis ownership was very hands on.

If Obero would have kept D-Petey and got rid of Philip Holm, Lekkerimaki is probably leading the league in goals. |

My problem with DeA is a temp fix & not worth giving up Hoglander. Need is a true top 4 shutdown D. |
