That tuna take makes as much as sense as you and your Myers melodrama. |

I hung in there for him a lot longer than most in this market. The team had all kinds of cap trouble. That's why I wanted to move on from him. Rember, he felt the same about moving during that period. I never felt I had to lash out at him. He was broken down pretty bad.
He's not just scoring goals. He is playing an all round game these days. - boonerbuck
Yes he wasn’t living up to his contract and was seen as part of the problem this team was having back then.
But it’s why you don’t give up on young NHL talent. To his credit he’s come through in all areas like you said. Another contributor is also the Canucks have put in pieces that help and coaching. Plus JTM positive influence now.
It’s just why no one player can do it on their own it’s a team game so team success or team failure reflect on all. |

Canucks 5 players in top 25 scoring. 3 forwards & 2 D including Hronek. Top player for goals(BB) best D in scoring(QH) and best C (JTM) point getter. Oh and there is that slumping player (EP40) in the top 10 too.
That means when they put out their new PP unit it should produce. Why it only could on an empty net tonight is baffling. |

Beauvillier was an easy trade based on salary and the fact he wasn't putting up the numbers that justified the salary, another smart move by Allvin - Makita
Would much rather them sign Bear than trade for Zadorov or Tanev with that money. Though ideally they poach another younger RHD from somewhere else... |

So we have another bounce back win but really only played well for one period. Lose 2 in a row now? lol

What are the chances that Chicago wanted Beauviller and not Garland because he has more value? |

Probably more because Beauvillier's contract is done at the completion of this year, Garland has two more years left at 5 million per. Short term flexibility? |

That right side on "D" is still a weak point behind Hronek, who's been so good with 23 points in 23 games and a +14, he's been a great partner for Hughes and really good on his own as well. Allvin is looking like a young genius Yzerman GM. |

I do agree that they need another top 4. Cole - Friedman has put up some decent numbers surprisingly. 7 GF 3 GA in 104.6 minutes. I doubt it's sustainable and it's more 3rd pairing numbers but they still have better numbers then Soucy-Myers in pretty well every category.
If they trade for Tanev do they split up Hughes and Hronek. Defence by committee then in the top 4. Cole - Tanev I don't think is ideal.
Still wonder if buying real low on someone like Adam Boqvist who is younger and a better puck mover might be better paired with Cole. He just doesn't improve physical side or penalty kill. Maybe Foote and Gonchar can turn his defensive game around like they have done with Hughes. Reading in an article that Boqvist has a similar profile to what Brandon Montour had in Buffalo before being traded to Florida. That has worked out hella good for Florida.
Trevor Van Riemsdyck out of Washington if they wanted to swap some defence for scoring. Profile isn't too far off of Cernak but more 3rd pairing than 2nd pairing guy. |
