And if you have one with size, they have a better chance Lane Hutson sized ones.

I just watched the exhibition between Canada and USA and me, the guy who has preached patience on big #8 Sam Rinzel, well, he surprised me.

He has advanced, is more confident sure in his play, I felt really good about that he might be that diamond they said he might.

Nazar can play, Moore is still simply lightning out of a bottle and will be given time to become a nice forward option too.

Didn't see Greeneee much.

Hey Wiz, have you seen Hayes at all? I’ve not had the chance to watch any of the warm up games. I don’t think Greene is on the team. Thought it was just Hayes, Rinzel, Moore and Nazar.

Pretty sure the guy he was referring to doesn't have a "Sir" in front of his name.

I don’t think any are part of the plan. The curiosity I have is currently under contract at forward next season is Hall, AA, Kurashev, Donato, and Bedard. If they sign Reichel ($2 mil.)give Foligno his $4 mil. And let’s say Richardinson $4 mil. That is 8 slots for approx $26 mil.. of course this is assuming Richardinson and Foligno want to resign.

On defense, Vlasic is due for a raise let’s say he swaps with Zaitsev’s $4 mil. Plus Jones, Murphy and the rest the rookies at the ELC’s that is about $21 mil. Plus one slot for a veteran D maybe.

Figure Mrazek or a like replacement (use Campbell’s$5 mil. Plus Soderblom is $6 mil. Allocated to goaltendin

You have right now $5 mil. In dead cap space.

In total that is $58 for 19 spots, basically 4 forward spots open.

KFC would then has approx. $10 mil to $30 mil. To spend on those 4 spaces. Does he continue to strive for top 5 draft choices, or does he try and get some forwards to try and give an appearance that he cares about the quality of the current roster, or continue to gaslight the fans about how he is building the next Roman Empire,

- LAHawk

Hope he adds a couple of top 6 forwards.

A slight correction to you math. I count the 8 forwards you mentioned. 7D and 2G. That's 17 spots so 6 more F needed. I figure 2 or 3 for maybe Entwistle, Gutman types and maybe Dach or Nazar. Say 3 spots and $27M then available for some "difference makers".

Anyone else watching the 2010(last night) and 2013(right now) Cup Clinchers on Comcast? The play was so intense. Missing those teams a whole bunch these days. Sigh.

I’m hoping that KD saying he’s not looking to dump guys at this TDL means that he wants to at least keep some familiarity for the kids playing to build some consistency. If KD goes for another top 5 pick next year, he’s going to lose a lot of backers, both here and in the stadium. He’s got to start building something this offseason.

Thanks for the correction, tried to do math on the fly. If past is prologue, I wouldn’t count on KFC signing anybody that could actually improve the team foot the next couple of years, he will spend the money as he has, just to have past their prime bodies on the ice.

I predict Bickell and Bolland score within 17 seconds late in the 3rd to win the game 3-2.

L. O. L. Touche !!

Watching these still(for me at least)invokes similar emotions as to when we all watched it 10+ years ago now. I guess that's one thing that hits me as much as anything else. How far in the rear view mirror that era is getting to be. And at my age(mid 70's), i'll be surprised to see another Cup in Chicago

Hrabal (CZE) vs Gajun (SLK). Started at 5:00 AM. First game of the WJC on NHL Network or here. http://onhockey.tv/index....place=sawlive&channel=tvh

Misiak is playing for SLK. Hrabal, taken a couple picks after Gajun, is the best goalie prospect I've seen outa the lil ole USHL.

Well, this Grinch has arrived.

Merry Christmas

A review of 2023 (draft) has me still not understanding why Kyle from Chicago traded Philly the 51st overall pick (Carson Bjarnason) for the 167th pk Milton Oscarson and the Los Angeles 2024 second rounder.

Unless the entire organization thought the 2023 sixth rounder was harvesting a special unknown at #167, why take two picks back when neither is going to be the lower of the three?

Did they not think the Kings were gonna be any good and draft 19th overall?
Because right now that pick is going to be at the bottom third of the second round (as that 2024 second rounder is sitting right now at about 60th over all)

Did they think having ANY extra second rounder in 2024 was the goal?

I realized that KD is trying to build relationships with the other GMs, but this one still has me scratching my head.
Was it because the current top scorer in the Dub (Carson Rehkopf) had just been taken off the board?

Hawk property Misak is wearing #20 in the blue (SLK). Bamford has a bit on the WJC with USA's schedule. USA starts at 10:00 AM today. https://www.bleachernatio...orld-junior-championship/

Hrabel up so far, Gajan didn't have a prayer of stopping that goal.

Gajun is a powerful athletic goalie. In style he reminds me of Shesterkin. .. But that 6ft 7in Hrabal, man. Watching him move efficiently and like a 6 footer is just mesmerizing.

That first goal Hrabel gave up hit on what those guys on that podcast said was the only knock on him, at his size, they thought he was a bit behind Gajan on the post to post quickness.

The second goal was very Soderbloomish

SVK dominates the 2nd period and puts up 2 to take a 2-1 lead into the 3rd period. Sets up well as CZE should come out hard to tie it up and test our guy Gajun who saw very little action in the 2nd.

Misiak has the look, plays a solid 2 way Euro game. Good size, solid skating, positioned well, good motor, feet are moving, his play off the puck looks solid. ..... Best I can tell he's playing 2nd line and 2nd unit PP.

SVK has a boatload of draft picks with a chance to go deeo into the tournament. It would be great to see Gajun and Misiak go deep into the tournament.

FIN vs CAN is the 2nd game with USA vs Norway following that tilt at 10:00 AM.

VBear, Hrabal never saw the 2nd shot. Watch his head, he never looks the puck ito his body. If a goalies head never moves it means he never saw it... The shot went thru 5 players but his positioning had the puck hitting his belly. Notice the english of that puck hitting his belly and grinding/spinning to the left and off his arm and in behind him.

As far as post quickness at 6ft 7 in Hrabal only needs to travel 6 inches to go post to post. Incredibly amazing foundation.

Now, the 3rd goal was a bit Soderblomish. Maybe the 4th too!! Shot hits the belly, falls in front of him, doesn't cover the 5 hole and it gets whacked in.......... Bad penalty up 3-1 by Misiak.

SVK mutilatin em. Noticed from the get go they made a concentrated effort to have bodies in front of hrabal then just shoot the thing. Very nicely executed taking away the goalies eyes. .... Also getting some nice cross ice passes getting the goalie moving.

Unfortunate that 17 yr old draft eligible right shot Dman Jiricek got his leg all tangled up and went off injured and didn't return. Hope the kid is ok. Most mocks have him going around 20ish.

Would have loved to see Gajun get more action.

Did you see the Shesterkin like explosion/althleticicm from Gajun going left to right on SVK's 2nd goal off a rebound. .... That's a snapshot of why I say the kid's game is Shesterkin like. Explosive and athletic.. That's a helluva SVK squad and we should see a bunch more of Gajun in this tournament.

SVK clubs em 6-2 and IMO it wasn't as close as the score would indicate. Nice looking club.
