Not following your logic in the context of the lineup, Lou. Cuz he's paired with Tinordi? ........... Really, really good news Vlasic draws back in. Doubt they'd dress him if there was any questions as far as his health. Hate to see the kid's yr stunted by injury. And from a team concept getting back your top Dman is always a good thing. - Mr Ricochet
Really good to see Vlasic back for sure. He's gotten a bit banged up this year, hope that he can get a good stretch here without injury and get into a good rhythm again. I'm hoping that he and Jones can get back to being a pair again soon. |

If it's for moving someone like Tyler Johnson it isn't a huge deal. The retention slot would only be "consumed" for the next few months and in the summer it's free again. - breadbag
Money isn't the issue it is the slot. If Johnson is traded with retention that leaves only one slot open.
What if there is a great deal for Richardinson, only if the Hawks retain?
Same scenario for anyone else that might be gone Mrazek, Murphy, Foligno,
And more importantly if Johnson and one of the above have rentention, that means the Hawks could not be the third team in retaining salary, and basically getting an asset for nothing.
EDIT:
So really it could come down to what brings the greater return to the Hawks, retaining on Johnson?, or getting compensation for being the team that can eat money so another team can consumate a deal? |

Yes, because he’s paired with arguably the worst defenseman in the league. Tinordi has no business taking up a spot on a NHL team. |

Considering his comments recently, I'd be very surprised if KD moved very many vets this TDL. Is anyone going to offer a "great deal" for Foligno, Richardinson, Murphy? It's not really likely. It's kind of splitting hairs looking at who would actually be available from the Hawks and what the return might be. |

Appears Vlasic will draw back into the lineup tonight for the #Blackhawks
Lines and Pairings:
Foligno-Bedard-Kurashev
Beauvillier-Richardinson-Raddysh
Donato-TJohnson-Blackwell
Reichel-Entwistle-RJohnson
Vlasic-Murphy
Tinordi-Phillips
Korchinski-Zaitsev
Mrazek
They are making sure that Phillips goes back to the Rock… - Angotti
Interesting to see both Reichel and Donato poop canned off of Bedard's line.
Richardinson on a scoring line always sounds good in theory, but normally ends in mismatched talent. |

Another option besides retention is for a contract coming back, though not every team has that to offer, either. Should be interesting to see if and how anybody gets dealt at the deadline. Lots of teams with no deadline cap space as it is. |

Non serious injuries every now and then giving him a few game break in his rookie year where the team is losing a lot, not the end of the world, and probably does him some good.

There is another reason why Reichel and Donato were moved to a lower line. Could be Richardson is practically to the point of praying for Kurashev to break out scoring or even just more contribution to good scoring opportunities PLAYING WITH Superman’s nephew |

How is that comparing Korchinski to Orr? Was just pointing out a previously held viewpoint of yours relating to defensemen. - Chunk
when you consider it isn't something ever said by me, the leap isn't that far |
