Overpay a couple of guys like they did with Foligno and Perry.
- paulr

What a recipe for success. Don’t forget all the teams will have an extra $4 mil. At their disposal to sign players also.

Doesn’t matter I guess because the Hawks will be bidding against themselves to overpay for players no one else wants.

My point was getting to the cap floor isn’t a difficult thing to do.

And how do the Hawks get to the cap floor ?
- LAHawk

I think a few guys will hit their ELCs bonus.

I think he'll resign D!ckinson and maybe Beauvillier

Sign Vlasic to a long term deal.

Sign 3 or 4 tweeners of 2nd and 3rd line forwards.

No not when you overpay for crap. But don’t spend on an actual NHL player, heresay.

How about the players who feel undervalued and want to line up with Bedard and sign a one or two year deal to pad their stats?

I think this discussion is going around in circles. I think, like many, that this summer KFC will begin putting pieces around the rookies who have played quire well this season. I suspect along with adding more prospects he will pick up a few free agents and or make some trades to bolster the roster. If at that point he’s short of the floor he hets a few useful veterans and over pays then for a season.

I thought this provided some good explanation for how/why Mrazek has helped the young defense this year.

Thanks for the find. But I think you and I are pissing in the wind about the benefits of signing Mrazek, as long as you can get a draft choice for him, he is replaceable by a shooter tutor.

Do you re-sign Vlasic to a long term deal now or a 3 year deal (assuming he’d be an RFA afterwards) then the long term deal? Given his age I’d be fine either way, but if the Hawks can lock him up for 8 years at a reasonable rate I’d say go for it.

D!ckinson is a must re-sign. He’s the type of guy who helps on the ice and off.

I’m on the fence about Beauvillier. If KD re-signs him hopefully it’s just a 1 year deal.

I’d re-sign Phillips and Raddysh too.

I would resign Phillips and Raddysh also. If you resign Phillips, he does become waiver eligible, so you are expecting him to be on the roster all year, or else you risk losing him if you try and send him to Rockford.

Phillips has made huge strides this season. I’m hoping to see him add a bit more physicality to his game the few times I saw him when Sudbury was in town he was running guys over.

Very impressed with Phillips. Last nights game, paired on his offside with Tinordii, it looke like he was playing defense by himself.

Anyone watching the Carolina/Habs game, Slafkovsky just got nailed, looked like elbow to the head.

I’d rather see KD re-sign Mrazek. At best he’d get a 2nd, realistically a 3rd. I think he has more value on the team for two more seasons than a 3rd round pick.

Better question would Mrazek want to come back and be undersiege for another year? If the Hawks cannot get 2nd or 3rd for him then resign him 1 or 2 year contract at 4 4.5 million a year same with Richardenson 1 to 2 year at 2.5 3 million a year. Might be better to resign them both then trade them in the overall picture. Imo Davidson will go out thus off-season and get better quality players to help the young players. Depending on how many years and money lindholm would be my first choice in free agency.

I like valasic but hasn't he already had two concussions this year. Just worry long term health with him.

Would love Lindholm but would think if he hasn’t signed by the TDL Conroy would trade him for something then lose him. Would that be a sign and trade? That would maximize the trade value.

The first injury was a concussion. The second I believe was upper body.

Playing professionally for two more years he could possibly be ready to drop into the lineup when other prospects are about ready. KFC could have some nice problems to deal with.
