My guess is the team got spanked because the team is terrible, they have almost no talent, they can sometimes sneak up on an unsuspecting team but not not twice in two nights. I know these opinions aren’t as satisfying as twenty guys going into a funk over the death of someone they don’t know or phantom New Year’s Eve parties a day before new years or the diagnosis of mental scarring or whatever you dream up next, but I’m guessing I’m closer to being correct. - paulr
Still not open to the idea, yea i got it hammer.

Hawks have over $21 mil on IR. Add Corey Perry's $4 mil and they have 30% of the cap either on IR or waived. - -Doh-
The cap hit for the present 23 man roster is about 44.7M. 12 players making less than 1M. |

Depends if the question is which QB in the league is the most likely to make multiple TOs in the 4th QTR. If so, he is the answer. |

It was, and Reichel shows a jump tonight.
Young D getting exposed, to be expected. Imagine if we had just any other goaltender in the nets.
The Hawks can pick up Samssnov on waivers, or Eric Comrie. - LAHawk
I mean, why? Comrie really sucks and Samsonov is a head case. Its not like either are a better option than Soderblom. At this point, may as well try to get Soderblom back on a track. Whatever that track may be.
Name any HoF goalie you want and they ain't gonna make much difference. |

Bedard is going to be a terrific player. However, someone needs to get in his ass about his backchecking/hustle. Enough of him taking his sweet ass time getting back. |

The Bears are a few months away from choosing their draft choices.
WHEREAS KD knew FOR SURE who he would take, it is not as crystal clear with the Bears
We know that Fields improved this season. When will he be a more complete passer, looking off target and finding another receiver. Whatever his minus points currently is this a situation where Fields takes next biggest step in development next season or roughly after a few more seasons?
BOTH FIELDS and BEDARD need much better talent surrounding them
There are good players, very good in the ‘24 draft when our Chicago teams draft.
Although I am a proponent of drafting best player available, I am aware many want or are hoping we Celebrini. He would be the scorer we badly need yet
Eiserman, the big foreign forward and the top defenseman are worthy to select if we miss out on the plum choices. My question then is, is the top rated Django a right shot? Would be helpful and if he is not and this is our selection….well you know KD is most likely to sooner or later trade some of his young defensemen
I am going to use that controversial word “assume” hash mark or tag it to the thought that Phillips and Crevier will become competent NHL dmen It is premature to make this assumption but notice I did say “competent.” I really like their all around skill and size combination. They would make a blue line crew quite good if they turn out more than merely average/competent playing on a second or third pair
Now you figure Vlasic and KK will certainly be on that blue line. Makes four players as keepers.
Smith is here for two or more seasons but in a few years he might go even if it is a bit costly to ship him out….I wish KD to use Fed Express and guarantee he he’s moved! Smith with all those kids is not such a bad thing if not for his big salary which we have to loose when the kids start deserving big checks later on
So Allen and DelMastro could become the five and sixth dmen. I haven’t included Kaiser so maybe one of our young dmen winds up moved. Whatever just believe that Murphy, Zaitsev and Tinordi have at most one more season of shelf life
Now as for the Bears, I would choose to draft a QB, move up from #10 IF the best either OL or DL is projected to be taken before #10 slot. I would wish to bring in four too young talent and our #2 round plus compensation for Fields would be the best scenario InHO
That means a QB and three other top young players to kindle the logs in the fire. Bears could add a free agent and a top player from draft in ‘25 then they could be a playoff contender
I know right now it is relatively early as all these players are playing on a field Field of dreams |

A seat at the end of the bench during a power play or two will do wonders to correct some things. And if it doesn’t missing a period or if needed a game will get his attention.

Agreed. We need to bring in Hoss to teach that! Show some clips of him when he lost the puck then went into search and destroy mode to get the puck back. Then we need to bring Toews back to show him how to win a draw. Our current face-off guru seems to be struggling. According to NHL.com, we are worst in the league at the moment at a 45.6%. |

Thats years of his junior hockey ways that needs to be corrected. He is an O-zone player only right now and pretty much a liability elsewhere without the puck. Tortorella would blow several gaskets in short order watching this crap.
But there's no expectation for winning anything and no real pressure, so accumulating points and putting on a show is all there is.
Adding some real hockey players next year and creating a base level of expectation for winning games can't come soon enough.

Nobody ever seemed to care about Kane's inability to back check. If they bench Bedard for not hustling on a suck ass team, they might as well start scouting Vancouver's entire system to see which players they are going to want when a trade is demanded 2 years from now.

I don't think Bedard will be suspended for gambling like Shane was?
