If us non-professionals think Vlasic and KK are the keepers, don't you think other teams would want them also? Doubt if they will be on the table. As for the others, I don't think their body of work isn't enough to deem whether other teams want them at this point. That's why I don't think there will be any movement of D-men for at least another year.

Yeah... that's what I said.

With the way this year is going, KD pretty much has all the leverage because he doesn't have to do anything at this point. He likely has his favorites and considering KK's progressed a bit this year, and he was KD's first draft pick, I don't see him going anywhere. Vlasic is currently the best defender on the team.

They don't have enough room on the roster for all the D-men, and will be drafting more soon with their plethora of picks in the first three rounds in the next three years. That's basically my line of thinking.

You are probably right on KK and Vlasic, they are not going anywhere. Allan and Del Mastro have not played in the NHL, so not sure they will be moved before they matriculate to the NHL. That leaves Kaiser, Phillips, Crevier, Roos, and of course Murphy and Jones that will be on the block short term, hopefully KD gets value back.

I think probably Murphy and Jones will be here until their contracts are up or close to up. I think Roos has been passed by most of the other prospects. I think the more likely ones to move will be the ones with expiring contracts. As of right now, the Hawks have 7 dmen on expiring deals.

I’d imagine he’d be in the right place and would be able to do something with Bedard’s passes not to mention with Kessel on the ice teams wouldn’t be able to double and triple team Bedard. And the best thing about Chicago Kessel will be able to find a hotdog on every street corner.

Legend has it that he's a pretty strong guy on the weights. It really couldn't hurt to sign him for the rest of the season. Nobody else wants him and we need a forward who can shoot the puck.
