You need to read that again. Show me the part where he said he wasn't going to spend money on NHL players.
Just cause he wasn't in on Nylander and said now isn't the time to sign guys to big money max contracts isn't really the same thing as saying "I won't sign actual NHL players." - HawkintheD
Yep. They just won't be swinging for the fences on big names. |

You have to be more specific. That statement applies to dozens of goals this season. - DarthKane

I think it’s too early to go in on very high priced players right now but even modest improvements to the on ice team have to made over the summer. I understand and agree, for what my opinion is worth, with a second year of tanking but I don’t think they should do it again next season. Get guys in who can support the young guys and who can put a few more wins on the board, start to develop a winning culture and keep the fans happy. |

No, they were given the 12th rated player on each team, so a bubble team, and leveraged the players they drafted and draft choices. - LAHawk
Except they weren't given the 12th rated player, in many cases they got a lot better. Still not the same thing.
You should accept that the Hawks management committed to a full rebuild. They tried to retool multiple times and it didn't work. They decided actually rebuild rather than beat their head against the wall trying to do it without a teardown.
The Hawks have been very clear with what they are doing and have stuck to the plan. It's going pretty freaking well so far.

Megna not looking overly terrible... and seems like he can pass. Must be a mistake... I noticed it prior to that goal - but seeing as my printer jest cracked it ... I was away from the game while that happened. - SC116
I am curious why he wasn't actually playing.
I hope the let him have some talks with big Crevier on how to improve. |

Well at least Tinordi[s old man apparently taught him how to throw bombs.
= 'Moral Victory of the game'... brought to you by (nameless low budget sponsor).
I take it Bedard is deciding not to shoot, just because he wants to be ironic? And I see the team hasn't yet mastered the full extension desperation pass receptions yet .... seeing that multiple times every game. |

Megna also playing his offside - lefty - playing RD, unless I missed something. Am guessing Seattle didn't want any assets for the guy - not like we have any.
Dunno about Crevier - to me he has been ok.

As a Hawk fan, I hope he proves me wrong, hopefully Powers doesn’t have it completely correct, and Davidson spends the money he has to spend on some NHL players, - LAHawk
The problem is that quality NHL players want term as well as $$$. If Nylander or a comparable FA is available this off season, they aren't going to sign a 2 or 3 year deal. You get guys like Foglino, Perry and Athenisiou because they're desperate to get just one or two more years of an NHL salary. If Davidson signs a couple of forwards for at least $7M for 5 or more years, he'll be struggling to stay under the cap when Nazar, KK and Bedard need to get signed. Hopefully, KD can swing a trade similar to the one that got Hall. |

I hardly notice Crevier, which is what you want from your young defensemen.
Vlasic looking good again tonight. |
