I’m curious why KFC is so adamant about not signing Kane or Toews. I don’t see the team wanting to move on from them, I’ve never seen other another team do this with two guys who were good players and good people. - paulr
Remember when Hagel was traded, and Toews and Kane questioned how does trading a young player help the rebuild? Maybe KFC didn’t want the 2 to question his moves? |

As KFC looks for warm bodies to fill the roster, a reminder that Jonathan Toews is a free agent. - scottak

Well yeah, when your first line was previously your 4th, probably shouldn’t get too excited. The PP has guys like Blackwell, Sanford, and Zaitsev on it. - Chunk
They have had 4 4th lines all season. Aside from Bedard |

It's about icing a team right now. A lot of our present players will be gone by next season. |

Just disagree that that is his concern. At the top of the organization, rightly or wrongly, they wanted everyone gone from the Beach era.
You'll have a ball ripping KD for the next 2 or 3 years.

IDK, at least he is big, I am afraid Seney is going to be killed out there.

If it was a healthy Toews and Kane maybe but both were suffering players, Toews stepped away from the game and Kane needed hip surgery. I guess some aren't built for this.
Btw nice win by the Blackhawks today against an NHL team. Hahaha

Each season there are games you don’t expect to win or to loose. Today we beat a team better than us on paper. Most everyone is better on paper; feels good to win occasionally!
Also
I like C Blackwell despite checkered injury history if he is cheap re-sign plus plus each team needs/appreciates players his ilk |

He has been definitely motivated here since coming back from injury. Doesn't take a shift off, hitting, playing physical and keeps his feet moving. Good short season from him so far. |

Has as many goals as Reichel
EDIT: in defense of Reichel if he had anyone eith any hands playing with him, he could have had 3 or 4 assists the past couple of games. |

Hey LAHAWK,
Saw that Clarke had his first gp only about 15:00 TOI. The former high #1 (about #4 overall) highly touted. Expect offense from him but if he works out then solid defensively too? Question: has offensive ability but is he especially quick and can he make plays at speed. Recall how Blackhawks thought they could ease Forsberg into larger role since he could make plays at speed and had a good shot. Took him a few years to be able to play and succeed in the NHL. How does Clarke handle physicality? |

Blackwell is 30 yo and on an expiring contract. Not surprising he's going to go b@lls out to maximize his next contract.

Pretty impossible to evaluate anyone on this team at this point with how very bad the roster is.
Though Vlasic continues to impress. I think at this stage it's safe to at least pencil him into a first pairing player. Excellent passer, great decision maker, his underlying metrics are phenomenal for being on such a bad team.
Very nice surprise there. |

Anyone else think that all of the players have amped up their play in the last two games? At a minimum, they are all more aggressive. They've also seemed to simplify things some and just go straight meat an potatoes (dump puck, fight for puck, shoot puck). Strange that it takes basically all of their forwards being injured for that to happen.
You can tell they aren't very good by their passes and a lot of their decisions, but it's been refreshing to see the stronger efforts. |

Colin Blackwell on his hair-on-fire style: "I don’t take the game for granted. When you miss a lot of time, you’ve got a little extra pep in your step. A lot of people don’t necessarily think very highly of me and I keep the receipts and it pisses me off a little bit." |

Impossible. StanBo and the 2019 scouting staff picked him. |
