Centerman, and if they have size bump up the value exponentially. .... Just like 95% of franchises throughout the history of the sport.

2 kinds of franchises, those who have centers and those looking for them.

- Mr Ricochet

When the pundits talk about the Bears that's the phrase they use in reference to the organIzation's never ending search for a franchise QB.

Recent stats on all Hawk prospects. Most of the Juniors players should be in Rockford next season, then maybe a couple make the big team the year after. None of the Euros are lighting up their respective leagues. No guarantees which NCAA players will stay in college or sign pro contracts. If Slaggert decides to sign after his season at ND, I don't see him making much of an impact down the road.

So we're saying the 16 yr old may have some learning and growing up to do

- vabeachbear

Starting with I wouldn't hesitate to draft Eiserman was on the board and I was a GM.

The learning and growing is part of his competitive spirit.
He is misses a goal or feels "violated" he retaliates and many times is on the bench fuming chopping top bet out there but he sort of loses the controlled team attack need, and rushes to rectify.
It is a thing he needs to be less reactive, and not try and take his teams on his shoulder. (Even when has played internationally, with guys a bit older, he never defers, because he feels he is the man and wants so badly to be that difference maker.

There is no denying he is a horse, a big GUN, and smart out there. The feet are going continuously improve, but he has more nuances in where he positions, how and where he sets, and loses a bit of holding his horses.

Not enough to not select him.

Thanks for pointing us back to this page - years ago it was a mess and wasn't usually up to date. Slaggert should at least be an OK AHLer and that adds some value to the org. Rockford should start to be interesting next year.

Dach - Saarela - Rolston
Savoie - Greene - Hayes
Luypen - Ludwinski - Slaggert
Marcel - Thompson

Still would like to see them make a spot for G Dominic Basse - he is having another good year at St. Cloud. Not sure they have a spot for him if Stauber comes back.

Are you thinking Nazar is staying at Michigan for another year, or with the big club?

I was thinking that Nazar would be in CHI next year, and they will be sure they have an NHL spot he can earn before they sign him. Maybe a spot on wing with Foligno and D!ickinson or something to start. Looks like Moore might need to stay in college for another year.

Looks like Tinordi and Megna are sitting out and Jones and Phillips draw in. Per the morning skate, Mrazek in net again.
Vlasic/Jones
Phillips/Murphy
KK/Zaitzev

With eight dmen up, are they giving Phillips a game before he gets sent down, or is something else on the horizon?

Is Foligno the assistant GM also?

Ben Pope
@BenPopeCST
Nick Foligno brought up Jason Richardinson unprompted, lobbying for him to get extended too:

"You've seen the emergence of Jason Richardinson, who has been outstanding and a big, big part of this. [He's] a guy I want to go to war with a lot more, and hopefully will be able to."

Career year, get the draft pick. Replaceable in free agency.

Nazar will probably be up at the end of this year barring injury. Moore probably needs another year or two in the NCAA to see if he can start thinking the game a bit faster.

I thought you wanted to see more stability in the line up and stop collecting draft picks?

Rather see them sign Mrazek, need to get forwards that are true top 6, Hawks have enough bottom 6 players internally that they can fill the position easily. Don’t want to see another year of overpaying for vets just to get to the cap floor.

On defense do you see much turnover next year? Your top 4 is still going to be a Jones, Vlasic, Murphy, KK. Maybe the GM will sign Tinordi again for that veteran presence. Kaiser will probably be the 5th defenseman.

Like I said in the last blog, shouldn’t be able to have it both ways but hey whateves.

Get players not more picks…but trade Richardinson. Play the kids, not the old bums, but when the kids make a mistake I reserve the right to female dog.

Show me one of my posts where I criticize that a kid is playing. Wow, can’t even point out on this board when a player whether rookie or vet makes a bad play?

I know you don’t like me, I don’t give a (frank), but don’t lie about what I post.

I’m sure KD has cap room to sign both D!ckinson and Mrazek if he feels D!ckinson is useful. D!ckinson Helps the bottom six. As much as I’d prefer they don’t sign Tinordi he brings a physical element to the lineup. There’s a niche there for Phillips, who I see as a guy who doesn’t bring anything any of the other young defenders already bring. If he shows he can play a tough, physical style he takes a spot and KD can show Tinordi the door.

I’m confident KD can build the team. It’s tough to watch two seasons of tanking but as long as he starts putting a lineup together this summer to show a progression in the standings next year I’m good with that.

LOL. First of all reread my post. You might call it a mischaracterization but I'd disagree. Definitely not lying but ok.

I dared suggest Reichel might be around when they're contending and you (paraphrasing) said something along the lines of "you mean the guy who passed it until time expired and didn't take a shot".

Like has nothing to do with it and I used to think you were a pretty interesting poster until you decided you didn't care for how the team was being rebuilt and started pissing and moaning about pretty much everything. I know I know, read past but it gets more than a tad (frank)ing old.

Good point about what Phillips potentially brings to the D as guys like Tinordi & Megna move on after this year. They didnt send him down to Rockford so maybe the plan was to have him watch from the press box as part of his learning assignments.

Wonder if some playoff contending teams that are very thin on blueline depth might kick some tires on what it would cost to acquire Phillips for a 6th or 7th Dman role. The Hawks have enough depth on D to consider a reasonable deal.

This team needs forwards that can score I can't see Eiserman lasting to pick 8 or 9 like some have him now.

If I thought he'd really be there at 8, I'd trade back from #2 or #3 if you don't get #1 and grab him with some extra picks.

Btw, he won't be there at 8
