Less money, less term that would be great. But is Jones even worth $7m/year? Other than minutes, where does he excel? If you put Tinordi out there for 25 mins a game does that mean he is worth $7m/year. Skill wise I think Jones is a solid second pairing Dman. What the going rate for a #3/#4? It sure isn't $7m. This was such a colossal f-up on Bowmans part on so many levels. The only positive at this point is that he helps get to the Cap floor.
- TheTrob

Obviously, the number would ideally be lower, but if you look around the league, there are plenty of #3/#4 guys that make that much or close to it.

Krug
Parayko
Faulk
Hampus Lindholm
Severson
M-E Vlasic
McDonough
Reilly
Fowler

Again, it's under a microscope because it's on your team, but at $7M and not the #1 guy, I'd be happy with what he brings. I'd be less mad at Seth and more mad at Stan.

I'd be willing to bet as these young guys get better, and the forwards get remarkably better, you'll start to see Seth get a lot better too. For that money he shouldn't need it, but that doesn't change the facts.

It’s KD’s fault. Had he not sold off the team, broken it down, picked up a ton of draft picks especially Bedard, Jones contract and his value to the team wouldn’t be an issue now.

Like hell it wouldn't.

Anyone making over $5 AAV is an issue (and an overpay).

Yep. How’d Seabs and Keith look at 19. Did we forget those early years how bad Keith was at times? 05-06 and 06-07.
- bhawks2241

Then Keith became real good and the BOD would still complain when his point shots either went wide or were driven directly into an opponent's shinpads.

I can see why KD drafted him there's a lot of talent there and he's very athletic.

If i sounded like i was criticizing him or eluding to the fact he won't be a any good, i actually believe the opposite.

- BetweenTheDots

Not directed at you specifically.

I just wanted to point out he's still a kid who just may be still feeling the effects of his father's death less then 2 months ago.

Life happens to these guys outside of hockey and I think fans tend to forget that.

I agree completely. Chelsea Dagger has to go away. Replace it with a new original song or an existing song excerpt from a CHICAGO band.
I personally would love to see them go with something from Loud Lucy or Cheap Trick or Smashing Pumpkins

I'd go with the opening to Sister Havana by Urge Overkill ... totally agree- new era - should be a new goal song.

Damn weather. I saw that Murphy was questionable again to be back in the Lineup. Zaitsev back to the IR and Crevier called up.
- breadbag

It will be interesting to see (if Murphy and Zaitsev stay out) if Phillips gets in, or if they go straight to Crevier. Would be a kick in the face for Phillips if he's just a pressbox body.

I could vote for Sister Havana, but you have to start the trak some where other than the beginning, and I am not sure where you blow it out at the PAs to start it.

I am not trying to re-write history, but was dagger one of the first "team rocking goal songs?" I seemed that the championship hawk teams brought the after goal song to prominence, as all levels of hockey grabbed it too, to celebrate.

I would be happy with a huge guitar riff right after...maybe a different one, different eras and lots auditions of one's from all up and coming guitar players.

After my late afternoon reflections, and prayers that I someday am rid of my incoherency, I realized that the Tampa Bay Lightning may be in a resurgence and our last Hagel payment pick in the first round looks to be one coming from a playoff bound team, or maybe one around, 15, or 16 as the wins keep coming.

That is going to kill any chance at selecting Carter Yakemchuk with our second pick.

If my top three forwards are off the board, I might take as the first offenseman off the board.

I am starting to think he goes top ten...check out my profile through the link provided.

Considering he's having a career year, wonder if Reinhart is going to test free agency. I imagine he'll get an offer like Nylanders.

It sounded like they said he trained really hard this past offseason because he was going into the last year of his deal?

Maybe a little of Keith before he became Keith. Love to see Korchinski develop a top tier stick.
- bhawks2241

His stick work is very good for a younger player. Especially at the blue line to disrupt entries.

Surprise us somewhat and both Phillips and Crevier are playing

Bucknovich available. Not interested one bit. Gaudette has 24 goals in AHL. Maybe he resurfaces especially if he scores a lot next year too in AHL. But not with us

I am just wondering if some prospect- say a forward from junior level - surprises and makes team next season

Maybe then by 20 gp mark he can go to AHL and Dach gets a look. Maybe yet another forward eventually gets a look too - Hayes?

C McDavid has 58 points this season. The league leaders with 72 points are McKinnon and Kucherov

Barring injury will McDavid overtake them to win another scoring title?

Will Panarin get 50 goals? He had 27 presently. Who would you choose finishes with more goals, Panarin or Boeser - tie both at 27 presently

Miller on Vancouver had 60 points. Does he get 100 pts?

If going the Chicago band route, do it right and go with "Just One Fix" by Ministry.

That said... who really gives a flying poop about the goal song? I'm normally looking at the replay. If actually at the game, it gets the younger fans going (which is what you want). It's not marketed to fans that have been watching for ages.

- Chunk

If your going to use a Ministry song how about the song Al Jourgensen actually wrote FOR the Wirtz family and the Blackhawks organization called "Keys to the City". I was at the game back in 2007 or so when they played the song and brought out Al.

Story goes when the Hawks actually looked into Al and his antics / previous drug use they decided to distance themselves from the song though he has always been a die hard Blackhawks fan... met him a few times at games over the years...

I think McDavid will close the gap, but maybe not surpass them after spotting them such a lead. I do think it will be close.

I think Boeser will finish with more goals, but I don't think either will get 50.

I'll guess Miller finishes with 102 points, just assuming he gets like 68 assists and 34 goals.

True - about that song. And referencing Fidel is not really a good place to be ... Huge guitar riff has my vote -something 'that sets the tone' - with sound editing - probably a lot can be done to anything - as I know the Jackets is a mishmash of AC/DC and something decidedly not AC/DC.

Love your idea of multiple power riffs.

Agreed. Was more referring to down low and along the boards. Don’t have to be the most physical guy to dominate. He can learn to use his skating and stick to win those pucks while avoiding most big hits. Something Keith was elite at doing and then flipping the ice.

If Kieth were just coming up to the Hawks now, the BOD would likely nickname him. I'd suggest Bustan Kieth.

I doubt it, they’d see he’s a young player just starting in the NHL and understand that he will not only learn things but that he’ll go on to greatness.

Due to the inclement weather in Buffalo the past two days, the morning skate today may have been cancelled

No idea if Phillips and Crevier are in

But in lieu of the morning skate Phillips and Crevier have the option of working together getting to the rink via luge or tobagganing!
