Murray is not wrong, as they currently stand, they don’t have a top six player on this team, doesn’t mean Reichel won’t be one, but he’s not one now.

Hawks down 3-0, they go on the PP, don't you pull the goalie and go 6 on 5 hopin for a few bounces?

Just wondering, i don't know anything about being a goalie, but if Soda doesn't turn his head does that puck go into the net?

I imagine it's hard to stare down a puck at your face but i don't think that goes in the net if he stares down the puck

- BetweenTheDots

I've been hit in the facemask as an adult with a shot so hard my jaw was sore for a day. But it never hurt or have never even been dazed by a puck off the mask. Ever.

So no, it's not hard to stare a puck down........ Think how many times a goalie has a puck bounce off him from the endline, or behind hit. Sometimes it's fatigue cuz it takes blood drawing muscle to get a tight seal. Sometimes you're anticipating/cheating and get caught off the post and sometimes it's just poor technique.

It happens but it's not what I'd call a soft goal. He wasn't but 4-5 inches off the post and it took a perfect BB to sneak thru.

Agree 1000%

Next what I wouldn’t give to have some semblance of offensive talent on the ice— I know the deal with injuries but this is worse than last year and all of the forwards are fourth line players at best with maybe two or three third line players.. zero skill on this team

Mr Ricochet:

Have you noticed not one crappy talented player on Buffalo roster. Each is talented with even lesser touted prospects possessing upside

I would like to know however if Levi would benefit from one year AHL & not NHL right away. Another top goaltender prospect playing well in second AHl season - Askarov

Oh I overlooked Robinson on Sabres. A depth player they acquired for his size and defensive acumen. Good skater too but not ever a budding prospect

And Girgensons is past prospect stage a decent talent never had put up numbers

Tomorrow night we see Dobson, Barzal and Sirokin but Polluk apparently long term injury. Yes Horvat too

- jhawk59

J, I look at the BUF roster and then watch em play and it doesn't jive. These are talented players, and a lot of em, and Granato I like, but not only don't they win much there isn't much structure or purpose to their play/style.

And yea, just stupid to have Levi up with no real AHL experience. .....

He is a pro, something Hawk fans on the tv side don't get to enjoy.. Had enough of Panger so I switched over to the BUF feed for the 3rd and it's a damn shame what the biz lady gave Hawk fans.

Burke and Pang were in Buffalo to do the TNT game Wednesday. When the game was postponed they stayed in town to do the game tonight. Vosters couldn't fly in to Buffalo anyway due to the weather.

I didn't realize, i know it's only one game, Dahlin was so soft. I'm glad even though we have an AHL roster many of the players are gritty players, and hopefully as more talent comes up they follow their teammates leads.

Which leads me to Phillips, if he can't figure out LR values players who are a pain in the ass to play against and appreciate their physical play then he's not going to see the ice much

I do think they are trying to appeal to the younger crowd, i did notice how much louder it was at the UC, we had to yell at each other to hear anything. Got some DJ mix master in the arena now, i don't remember him from last year.

Edit - there’s a reason for all the injuries, it’s not all bad luck. They lack so much talent that they’re always defending or trying to do too much on offense due to this lack of talent, and hence putting themselves in vulnerable positions.

- Angotti

That's an interesting theory. At the very least, the lack of talent means more penalties to make up for the deficiencies. One can certainly argue that Bedard tries to do too much, and if he had first line wingers with him as they gained the line, that hit might not have happened. And one good turn deserved another with Foligno's subsequent injury. Hall, TJ, and AA, they are so injury prone to begin with, so I'm less inclined to chalk their injuries up to that alone. The defensemen getting hurt, probably truer in that case, especially in situations where they feel they have to cover for a deficient partner.

I want to see a reporter ask Richardson why Phillips isn’t playing more., Essentially if he keeps sitting out often

I dunno Jim but there were some signs last night.

They were never going to overload on rooks this year because that veteran cushion is the standard operating procedure, and they obviously felt the need for Megna, in the pinch with that a sign that there were premature NHL baptisms. The pace, and the game after play that Korchinski is being provided is not the easiest intro to the NHl pro game.

And we don't know if little injuries are part of it.
These young guys as assets, so kid gloves sometimes are how they are handled.
Beware
Media blitz on the way from the announcers.

There has been so much name mentioning about the two guys we haven't see as NHler rooks, Del Maestro and Nolan Allen.
(After that sports channel employee Pat Boyle was, over a year ago, touting Commesso as the future starter, I put comments about the farm in the promoting the sunny future pile.)

The coach seems to have his team working, individually and as a team, but these journeyman are not out skilling the opponents as much as needed.
the fact that DelMaestro & Allen are playing as a pair is exactly what Vegas was able too do with the current 3rd pair. The goal is that they eventually grow out of the 3rd pair NHL role, and that opened places for the others.

Maybe the final landing point of Phillips and Crevier is only eventually building into a viable 3rd pair that other hawk prospects have leap frogged into that top two pairings, but as impatient as I get, they need to play you are correct.
That elevation of Phillips gives him lots of time in the big league, and there is no harm to his development practicing with and being instructed by the organizations staff here.

I started see what I needed to add as far as content in my mock 7 rd. draft for 2024, so I started looking over the on line content and adding to it.

there was a past blog conversation about Dean Letourneau (who was mislabel goalie by someone who is a terrible proofreader), so added the notepad stuff to his profile and started shoring up there first round.

I don't know if I ever posted you can type in a prospect name like this instead of spending time trying to find my buried work of this gambling website.

if you type, say,

Dean Letourneau Lines.com
or
Konsta Helenius Lines.com

to find them

click on it and you will see more on him.

I’d bet if tonight he puts two or three guys on their asses and does a little pushing and shoving after the whistle he’ll play the next game.

Well, eventually their team hammer, and when the coach's dog from his last team, Tinordi gets even slower and even less useful, they will be looking for a guy (along with EVERY team guy) to set up.

So, I agree.

That with some big hits and then in the correct situations, fight.

I am just not so sure where the kid is in terms of both aspects.

It isn't about simply lining guys up with late hits or abandoning the pattern of play he is expected to stay inside off.

And the fight part...sure, he fought in junior. throws with the left.

But I don't think these opponents are the likes of Kirill Steklov

Thx, boil!

I turned on the TNT tape later and basically there was little;e play by play pop teh substitute game, just talk over the game, about the you red wing forward Raymond, and stuff...

I think yesterday (or who knows when during snow) there seemed to be no announcers for the Tampa Game on TNT, just the entire intermission panel talking but Liam did try a do some play by play.

I loved when Biz and Anson Carter started taking different sides of hook/stick hold penalty right during the game.

I watch a lot of games, and I can tell you from what I have seen, Dahlin is not soft at all, he’s a tough kid and will lay some nice hits as well. I’d take him in a NY minute.
