Let’s go to war in 2026! Smurfs with talent are okay upfront, on the backend I like big boys with talent. - Angotti
YES
I am watching how well Kaiser develops too. He could be very good on a third pair. Bu his size isn’t so much an issue if he competes hard. Unsure though if he gets strong enough; however, he is a workout warrior in the weight room. Do not discount him |

Probably because he's only attempted three shots in the last three games combined. They can only tell him so many times before they sit him down and tell him to watch for a game or three.
It's crazy because he shows the tenacity to be a good player and occasionally flashes the skill. He just either gets stuck on the outside, or defers to a line mate. maddening sometimes. |

Hey Scott,
Haven’t seen anything from you for a while.
I thought of you today as you often throw out ideas or have thoughts on possible transactions. Sometimes major but minor -ish movement too
Tonight I suspect at a minimum our radio broadcast team will touch upon the big name rumor going around regarding the Vancouver Canucks
That Rutherford would make a bold move is no surprise given his GM historionics!
What names have you maybe perused over internet search or come up with on your own?
From what little I have seen, Guentzel name has popped up. Don’t know if Penguins give in on making a serious run by moving him They really should make him headlights as they need to retool for the future with young players and picks. Possibly Malkin packs his suitcase and departs? The Penguins would have an outside chance making playoffs with a still descent roster irregardless the deletion of a top scoring forward
Deep down we have to surmise their GM Hextal
knows the team is not likely to go far in playoffs It would not be totally surprising if with their current cast they do win a couple rounds; I think the wager or odds is not in their favor
I don’t think Dubas, Toronto Maple Leafs GM
will be or is dubious or dumb*ss to screw his team if he makes a late trade. Had to include him along yet as far as I see it right now Mr Hextall step up
Knowing the disdain for the Maple Leafs - and I am not a huge hate guy but I do not care for them - I want to include this below
How you like all those “d” words in the paragraph before last /Paul! |

This was a bit surprising: #16 is the only Blackhawk to dress for every game so far this season.

Hextall was dumped as GM of the Pens and Dubas was hired in Pitt this offseason.
I doubt Pitt would trade Guentzel. They are going to ride with these old guys as long as they can rebuild/retool be damned. They are 5 points outside of the wild card with at least three games in hand, so not completely out of the question. I think they'll ultimately fall short.
I asked on the Pens board before the season started what everyone thought of the Karlsson trade, and the vast majority were supportive of giving it one more shot and had no delusions that it would be some great stroke. They know the backside of this is going to be ugly ("Blackhawk ugly").

Yes I agree that they are not likely to trade Guentzel. With Karlsson trade a new GM would look foolish or cause the ownership to perhaps loose some respect and confidance in management of team since the penguins are sitting on the post right in the border of being a playoff participant
Might the Penguins remain in the playoff hunt if they traded either Guentzel or Malkin….it would be a dagger although they still might get in - in part what would the return be in the trade? However there is probably another team and other players Vancouver is interested to pursue
If I would have checked facts I could have verified the GM musical chairs previous to this season unfolding I suspected I was wrong and asked Siri which was not too smart because I didn’t think that was right. But I figured Siri would know so I went with it even thinking this doesn’t look like the right answer. It was just convenient to ask Siri while I was typing. But it wouldn’t have taken much effort to check Siri’s answer Honestly I just wanted to correct grammar and auto correct more than check Siri’s answer. Not too smart my bad |

Have fun, hopefully it's a real ugly game. In a good way |

VAN only has about 300K in capspace. If they add a big name, salary has to go back to the trading partner, or they have to make a separate trade to move out an expensive player.
Like Chunk said, I don't think the Pens break up the band as long as Crosby is around. I think Guenzel stays there. I can see ANA moving Henrique or OTT trading Tarasenko. |

I like Kaiser and his compete level, but some moves will be made to move a defenseman or two in the next couple of years, we’ll see who goes and who stays. |

If the Hawks make any moves it will be them being a go between third team to eat cap space. Just my opinion I think Davidson looks for prospects or players that can help now or next year they have enough draft capital. Any bug moves or signings will come in the off-season. The Zegras situation, if there is one, is one that intrigues me.

Both goals were with the 2 rookies on the ice as they were getting caved in possession. LR split em up after the 2nd goal........ VAN looks like a serious player. Didn't seem to need to be motivated vs a bad club. Club came out moving its feet, looking hungry. |
