Maybe only 3 of those 4 now
- Lunaion
Someone brought up what LA has done on Twitter so far during their current build, mentioning trading away most of their quality prospects for immediate help, but keeping what the person called studs in Clarke and Byfield.
For the following group of prospects:
Benson, Savoie, Rosen, Kulich, Ostlund
Which if any would potentially be a stud?
I'm thinking none.
If the Sabres do end up with a top 8 or higher pick this coming draft, you could argue that would be their best prospect.
My point is I'm not sure you could pick one or two from their current prospect pool and label them as must keep.
Any and all could go for the right price. |

He has been abysmal!
Two shots from distance that he absolutely should've stopped went in, and got lucky the Tage shot hit him in the helmet, or that would've went in to. |

I can take it. He's been great tonight. Been in a bit of slumber for a while, would be nice to get that line really going. Just feels too late to matter now. - Lunaion
It is imperative for the future, meaning the upcoming offseason and beyond, as it ties to what I just posted earlier.
Peterka and Quinn can make much of their forward prospect pool expendable for immediate help, starting next season and beyond. |

I don't know what they are doing, or if they even do. Trading for a 25 year old upgrade on a team friendly deal doesn't feel all that realistic to me. Also not convinced they have budget room to do much either.
Think we agree that their system atm might be more quantity than quality. KA sure seems like he's going to hold onto them all and find out. Bet he's still being patient right up until the realities of waivers crop up.

That’s one way of looking at it, another would be how loaded this team could look like in 12-24 months if Kulich, Savoie, Ostlund live up to their hype.
Could make the argument they are right in that tier with Quinn and Peterka.
They have more then enough ammunition to make deals, that’s what pisses me off more then anything about this season.
It’s possible to win in the present, while setting yourself up for the highest peak potential over the course of the next few years and Adams is failing them in the present |

What does the team look like?
If you're bringing back Mittelstadt, openings are few and far between at forward.
I'm not putting any prospect who hasn't shown quality ability at the NHL level at the same tier as Peterka and Quinn.
That means Benson is the only one so far.
Stop squatting on prospects and ifs.
Time to get moving. |

I think they have quality, just not high end first line quality.
Benson maybe, but that's only a maybe.
Who's the 25 year old on a team friendly deal you're referencing? |

Villardi has been miles better than Dubois. Iafallo is a good depth piece and Kupari has had a fair shake with Winnipeg so far this year.
Sean Durzi is a legitimate top 4 d-man in Arizona and they gave him away for a 2nd rounder for cap reasons.
Faber is a legit top 4 d-man already plus Ohgren at 19th overall could tip the scales heavily in the Wild’s favour in short order in the Fiala trade.
Then to get out of Cal Peterson’s contract they lost another d-man in Sean Walker who’s been impressive this year, Helge Grans a RHD prospect and another 2nd rounder.
Plus the 1st rounder traded to rent Gavrikov and Korpisalo for a few months last year.
Meanwhile, they have won 2 games since the calendar flipped to January.
Yikes

Rasmus Kupari a fair shake; he has one (frank)ing point in 19 games, and on a team loaded with plus players, he's one of the very few that is a minus. |

I was at the Kings/Sabres game tonight. A few comments...
- Levi and Talbot both let in 2 goals they shouldn't have.
- Peterka, Cozens, Quinn and Tuch were excellent.
- Thompson was a force out there and skating hard. Lots of shot attempts. Could have had a hatty.
- overall team speed was noticeable. They played far better tonight vs last night.
- The Kings were a much bigger team than the Sabres. At times, we had Clifton and Bryson on the ice. Yikes!
- We don't hit. We stick check all the time. We don't clear anyone from in front of the net.
- The Kings fans were booing them off the ice. They have stunk recently and their fans ripped them. I thought i was at a Sabres game.
One last comment, Levi should be sent to Rochester for the rest of the season. He needs a ton of work. Ride UPL and bring Comrie up as the back-up.

IMO Samuelsson is paid to much for where he should be on this Team. He should be 3LD here and I am not trying to say he's bad. Cause I think he's a Quality 2LD but not here, we have that. What would Samuelsson and Mitts bring back in a package ? |
