If they were good leaders why couldn't any of them LEAD this team to the playoffs? Couldnt even squeak in once.

I don't consider some of that good leadership, especially at the times of there Careers. And Okposo and SirFallsAlot were already here for some of those. - Buff36
They were great fantastic leaders what are you saying.
Eric Staal was such a good leader he forgot how to play was a -20 in 32 games and had to take a year off.
Ryan O'reailly was such a good leader he told the media his love for the game was gone and he had no desire to play. A1 Leadership right there.
Brian Gionta was so good ... oh wait he stunk
Gorges was absolute dog water his whole career.
Evande Kane was brought in to be a leader. Whatta joke.
Craig Anderson was probably the best of the bunch cause he had a good attitude about it and even though he only played once a month he came to play when called on. |

gionta, ror, staal, pommer, gorges were crappy leaders?
the players as a team underachieves under the coaching staff
the coaching staff underachieves
the gm underachieves
the owner underachieves
as long as mediocre play is accepted the losing will continue

The Sabres rely on high draft picks talent…these past 13 years has exposed that to not work. Adams is going to continue this trend until it’s burned to ashes…and they start over.

You mention a guy who quit on his team, organization, fans and himself as a good leader.
You need to give your head a shake

Jokers a solid 3rd pairing guy, said it last year.
KA aimed to low with his free agent signings. We already had decent 3rd pairing guys playing up in the lineup.
He needs to find Dahlin a real franking partner. Guy cannot be learning on the fly from Erik franking Johnson and playing with Jacob Bryson. He needs his Devon Towes. - DirtyDan
Johnson told him to get a sauna. No one else did

so you become a worse leader as you get older?
it's more the case that the core they drafted and depend on were immature and the coaches allowed that to continue |

If I wanted my team "leaders" to tell me how to be better in the league instead of showing me I'd tell them to get behind the bench.
They needed guys who werent still immature (ROR, Kane) and could actually play unlike Gionta, Gorges, Moulson, Okposo, Staal, Hall, etc, etc, etc

It’s barely worth mentioning the playoffs unless the Sabres can string together five or six wins in a row. But it does feel like the Sabres have a lot to play for down the stretch. For starters, if players want to show how they feel about Granato, they’ll need a lot more games like the one they played against the Kings and a lot fewer like the one they played against the Ducks. The Sabres managed to come back and beat the Kings, but they once again fell behind early. In the first period, they have now allowed an NHL-high 60 goals and have scored only 33 for 29th in the NHL. They have also allowed two or more goals in 21 of their 48 games this season. With the win against the Kings, they are 3-17-1 in those games. If they want to show their coach they have his back, the Sabres need to play an inspired game from the drop of the puck more consistently.

Vancouver has the highest points % in the league atm at .719. It Buffalo plays at that pace the rest of the season, they'd be a 94.9 point team.
Be the best team in hockey down the stretch just to have a shot at the playoffs....from a team who has won two straight twice.

let's not forget in skinners first year here the team was on a tear at the end of november and management did nothing to help salvage that season
and last season the team needed that spark in Jan and different management once again, did nothing |

In the next 3 years Levi will be a top 3 goalie in the league.
He has all the tools and most importantly he tracks the puck very well and his reflexes are off the charts. He also has a Hasek like work ethic. These are things you can't teach.
His positioning needs some work as we saw last night and rebound control needs a bit of work.
Mark this post. He has the qualities to be the best in the league. - sabresfan69
Who is arguing against that here?
The argument is the development path to achieve greatness, and if the current path is the optimal one...it certainly is very unusual from a FO and Coaching Staff that hasn't done it before. |

some of those players were over the hill, but the topic was leadership, not their play
and of course ror with the middle finger to the fans
just keep telling yourself kane was brought in to be a leader, it's a funnier post
