Better goalie prospects than him have faltered. No one should feel confident projecting him 5 years out.
Wolf, Wallstedt, Askarov, Cossa. I'm sure each of those teams feel they have the better prospect developing in a better place. - Lunaion
IMO, the best place to develop is by playing big minutes / number of games to work on refining one's game without the bright lights on every single mistake.
UPL needs more time in net ..in the NHL, he has earned it. That leaves Levi playing 1 of every four instead of 3 of every four

I see everyone is arguing about leadership. I think the Sabres problem is culture. They just aren't a franchise serious about winning. It's a place guys go to go on cruise control, get rich and hit the golf course early. It's top to bottom. I feel bad for the few guys who truly give a poop all 82 games. Imagine Tage on a real team? - Buffalo--Sabres
Sure, Losing Breeds Losing. But this is a young team that with the right on ice Leadership should not be such weak minded pussies. Front office is a joke and your coaching is lost but as they have proved when they feel like playing they can play with most Teams and beat the best. All I hear about is the love for each other and we have a strong group. Well quitting and Not Competing for the guy next to you shows how weak they are.

Let's see what they do with him after next game. They can send him down and get him playing games again. If they don't, how many games does he play in the next month? 2?
Who are the best 10 leaders in the NHL currently playing? - IonSabres
I would go beg Steven Stamkos to lead my Team for the next couple years.
Coke, Prostitutes, whatever it takes. Bring him to my House, he will sign a Contract. Might not remember doing it, but it will be his wasted Signature.

Touche, I had Landeskog on their as well but he isn't even playing...Colorado's locker room is legit. - washedup20
"It's self-awareness. We need guys that know how to play in our system, how to play our game, and know what it takes. We've got some guys in here that think they're playing well and I think they're kidding themselves at this point," Toews said.
I flash back to opening night this season and the entirety of the roster had the look of deer in the headlights.
I think our leader's note about the team expectations to qualify for the playoffs got them squeezing their sticks too tightly, and they still have figured it out.
Put another way, most key guys are mentally soft/fragile...the wrong complexion for a winning roster
Go get the guy who is going to put the boys on his back. - IonSabres
I look at the 07-08 sabres
over 2 years they lost jp, briere, drury and biron
that team was intact from the presidents trophy team aside from briere, drury and biron
did they have enough talent up front to score, yes vanek, pommer, roy, connolly, hecht, max, kotalik, stff were still in our top 9
the d was intact from a year ago aside from teppo
our starting goalie was brought back
the guys left just were not mature leaders
they had the talent to make the playoffs, lacking the leadership, heart and drive

I am amazed how many times I see guys like benson, peterka, cozens, quinn and krebs on the bench in the 3rd period of a game we are losing and donnie rolls out girgens, okposo, olofsson, greenway when we need those 2 or 3 goals that we are never going to get

Could use some of this fire in the room.
Colorado 12-4 since. 4-6 the 10 games before. - DirtyDan

Cry about goalposts being moved only for yourself to actually move them
Fans could make for these guys to actually start a game with some energy. This is factual.
Skinner does suck(defensively) but I never said he was the reason for this team sucking. This is factual.
