If this is the case, then we are talking about a Canadian version of Artemi Panarin.

And with enough body of evidence that teams don't win cups with Panarin, I say hard pass.

Yup, lets keep playing with slugs like we have… cant score but can win cups.

Holloway cannot find his way upwards from line #4 but indication is that he will have Perry on his line Saturday
- jhawk59

Holloway (the guy I wanted for the hawks but was taken before the got to the mike) has become a very active relaxed attacker and all around player, and I think, an example of how introductions to the NHL for youngsters are painfully long lessons in adjustment and it is nice to see he is putting it together.

In every team's organizational stable of draft staff, when a player looks completely comfortable and their hockey IQ just has to "play the game," that's when they start patting themselves on the back that drafted a NHLer.

Let's hop it starts happening three fold here.

I think it will. The thing that's wrong with Reichel is the lack of talent around him. When Bedard broke his jaw Kurashevs scoring virtually stopped. I agree with the folks that say they need more talent, i think the staff knows it as well. There's no fixing this by seasons end. Signing a big free agent won't fix this either. Please stop, not you Wiz, trading away our futures, i include young players in that, for NHL players. Our biggest help will be this up coming draft and getting it right, current development in the minors, maybe even a little lady luck to get the number one overall pick again.

I am getting a sense though players like Phillips, Kaiser and a few others may not be a part of the Blackhawks future, but Reichel, Korchinski, Vlasic aren't going anywhere for now.

I think it’s a bit situational. I think Phillips is already the next “Ian Mitchell”, though he has played better these last few games. I think Kaiser is being given the Vlasic treatment a bit, but also the fact that there isn’t really much room on the roster for him at this point. The entire staff saw how poised he was last year. I think they just want him to build that consistency.

Reichel is staying up mainly because there aren’t really any other younger guys that are worth being up on the NHL squad. I think if Dach was healthy, or Nazar was available for them to bring up, Reichel would have already been sent back down.

It's nice to see he's just getting better and better as the season continues in Michigan and his performance for team USA. Hope to see him in a Blackhawks sweater next season

I’m sure if the right trade for an NHL player is there KD would assess it and if he believes there’s value would move prospects and or draft picks to make it. If there’s a good NHL player under a certain age who potentially makes the Hawks better in the future you do it. Prospects and draft picks have two purposes, potential players in the Hawk’s lineup or as trade capital for players who KD feels have a better chance.

Nazar with 2 goals and a helper last night. 12G and 18 assists in 23 games this season.

Moore with a goal last night. 4G and 18A in 24 games for Minnesota. Minnesota (Moore and Rinzel) and Michigan State play today at 3pm Central on Big10 Network.

Of course, but let's just not give up or giveaway picks and prospects because they aren't working out as of now.

Would rather have someone who can score but cheats on the other end rather than someone eho csnt put s puck in an open net but backchecks

Of course not. Young players, prospects and draft picks are valuable. But that value isn’t necessarily in what they do in a Blackhawk sweater but in what they can be traded for. That said many GMs have made huge mistakes not fully investigating the young guy they’re trading for. Laine for example, it’s known he’s talented, he has size and can score but there’s also something that isn’t quite right basically he’s a project for any team trading for him. If he can be acquired for a low price you take a chance but you don’t give up blue chip prospects and or draft picks for him. I bet the Kings wish they didn’t think they could fix PL Dubois. The negative traits displayed in Columbus and Winnipeg are rearing their heads in Los Angeles. Doughty clearly pointed his finger at Dubois for his uninspired play. Making matters worse PLD just signed that brutal contract that makes Seth Jones’ look good.

Speaking of the Kings they have traded away a lot of talent to be relevant quickly, or am i mistaken?

The Kings fell into the same trap as Chicago, Tampa and Pittsburgh. Trying to continue to be relevant when the stars that go them there are shells of their former selves. Yes Doughty and Kopitar still play well today but they can no longer drive a championship team. What was Pittsburgh thinking when they acquired Karlsson?

It must be difficult for a GM to move the stars who helped him win a cup but it’s something GMs are going to have to consider.

I am watching the Minnesota game and they got absolutely robbed. Should be 3-0. Ref's blew it big time! The player was checked into the goaltender and they waved it off. I wonder if these Ref's know the rules. Moore with an assist. Rinzel looks good.
