Jeff Marek this past offseason on 32 thoughts even said he thought Hanifin was going to be. Sabre.

Only makes sense if he agrees to an extension, which I’m sure is the reason why the trigger wasn’t pulled.

Was just responding to the statement that it looks like it's happening.

As far as their viability, I think a lot of the issues with the Thrashers stemmed from being awful the entire time. They missed the playoffs almost every year. With the new expansion rules, they'd be a lot better. The Flames moved due to finances, so that wouldn't be an issue...third time could actually be the charm.

The previous owners didn’t want the thrashers. They bought the NBA team and had to take the thrashers. They had no interest in actually owning that club. Also, the arena was in a terrible spot. where they are putting the new arena will be in a much better location.

Also, not to mention the last ownership group who owned the thrashers fell apart, and they all started suing each other, which caused both franchises (thrashers and Hawks) to basically fall apart
