Since beating the Leafs on 12/19, the Sabres at 5v5 are (via Evolving Hockey)...

4th in GA/60
8th in GF/60
8th in xGF/60
8th in xGA/60
9th in xGF%
9th in CF%

The PP on the other hand...

27th in GF/60
28th in xGA/60
30th in GA/60
30th in xGF/60
30th in xGF%

It is KILLING them.

9-6-1 since that Columbus game so if anything the stats reflect they have been playing better hockey.

The special teams is the reason why they didn’t pick up an extra couple of points during that stretch.

No it was their play from October to December 19th that did that.

Not the fact that they have played at a 97 point pace from mid December till now.

Continue to play like a top 10 team at even strength and they’ll win a lot of hockey games the next few months.

Will it be enough to end the drought ? Time will tell.

Losing Quinn again is huge though

at the same time the wings could end up with 12 wins during that same time frame if they win tonight

the sabres peaks are not very big, which is their problem

I do think their inability to get to OT is a good topic, but the answer is a lot deeper than their PP is bad.

we have won 2 games in a row 4 times this season and have yet to win 3 in a row

difference between playoff teams and a bottom feeder
