Why that line played good together, and this is just trying things out this year. Doesn't mean these are permanent. Especially when Quinn comes back. - Buff36
Use this season to experiment with players who will have a career after this season.
Greenway and Robinson are not long term solutions to anything for the Sabres...they fill voids, but no where near good enough to be considered for a team that is actually trying to compete. |

I think with Guentzel, the only way it makes sense (presuming he waives which is unlikely but again just a hypothetical), is if he wants to sign the extension. I think he's a lot more valuable player to invest in if we're going to.
Do you think that's what GMs think of Mitts? I've been wondering, since the Lindholm trade, if he wouldn't garner a hefty return as well. He's no 40g scorer, but playmakers have value as well. - QuinnFan
I think Mitts wants to get paid, his best chance is with Adams. He is a 3rd line playmaker on a good team with 0 pp ability. On top of that I bet Adams is asking for the GM's first born son ++ for Mitts...which is why teams will look elsewhere.
Adams severely over values his players - this season is a perfect example of how they are not good.

Fair enough, I remember some here suggesting taking his contract on. Missed opportunity

Already sitting Girgensons Okposo and Olofsson. What else unless he starts trading players |

If he did that, it would be the best move(s) he's made in 2+ years.

He will cave on Okposo. Should get anything we can for him. He will make some stupid speech after the deadline about how trading him does not improve our team and he is such an asset, blah, blah |

I bet he gets extended:
"I can't say enough good things about him as a person, what he's done in the locker room, the way he carries the message from Donny [Granato] and the coaching staff through to the team, his selflessness, to be able to mentor and bring along players," Adams said.
"I see it over and over again, day after day, players are down, whatever's going on in their life, they're talking to him. And I just think it's we're lucky to have him."

I agree wholeheartedly, very hard to put what you might want to see when you only have so many roster spots. |

Said that yesterday, I would hope he is taking calls on Mitts. He's been better than both Lindholm and Monahan over the last 14 months. |

Do you know how insane that sounds?
You think he's made a decision on Mitts, without even discussing a contract with him? You think he's capable of making a bold trade? On a deadline?

Don't care if he's made a Decision on him, a good GM takes those calls and hears what's being offered. |

That now makes it 13 NHL head coaching changes since the end of last season: NYR, Calgary, Anaheim, Washington, Nashville, Columbus (twice), Edmonton, St. Louis, Ottawa, Minnesota, NYI and now LAK.

What does that say to and about Rosen and Kulich if they go outside the org. to bring in another prospect? - kingcong39
That they are blocking their prospects. |
