I think this place is split down the middle of whether KA or Donnie is the bigger issue atm. Fire both probably wins that poll easily.
Donnie spitting in the face of analytics was the final straw for me. What this organization is doing makes no sense atm. All talk, no action. - Lunaion
Good post
Something has to change and it can’t be the “core” first anyways.
The soft boring hockey, slow starting and losing is frustrating, would a coaching change solve that? |

GM Okposo. Should be a joke, but you could also imagine it. - Lunaion
That’s pretty funny 😄
I think I’d rather okposo be gm. then return as a player again though.
I could see Girgensons extending prior to July 1st again |

Adams gets a promotion lol
Good thoughts
Would a reputable gm want to work for pegula?
Might we have a “want to be here “ issue with management as well? - Boss34
No one in their right mind would want to work for President Terry.
But he knows best, so we're in good hands regardless |

How many points have Donnie's lineup decisions and game management cost them?
I know you love Girgs, but don't you get frustrated watching him out there down 1 with 3 minutes left? When you pull the goalie, do you really want Okposo out there?

I take this as sign that they are giving up on the season. Guess there's no back to backs this month, so they can just ride UPL in to the ground. If you plan to use Comrie, you aren't trying.

Granato said Luukkonen has established himself as the No. 1 guy, so he'll play as many games as he can. Granato said that means today, Levi is in Rochester. He said changing circumstances could change that. I take all this as Levi will stay in Rochester for now. |

Any word if they plan on bringing Levi back up? Or they gonna roll with Comrie - Lunaion
Kicking it to next year ? No reason some of these kids shouldn't get some games then. |

That’s bad coaching for sure, I’m fine with moving on from both okposo and Girgensons.
Have we’ seen the end of either or both as Sabres?
Probably not……
Girgensons is relatively cheap and a fan favorite , he fills a role at times |

Is he cheap or is he one of the more expensive 4th line players in the league? |

2.5mill for what Girgensons brings isn't cheap! It's called Stealing. |

Nothing would surprise me with Girgs. I'd say he's on the expensive side for a 4th liner and the budget will drive some decisions next season. This team has way too many 1.5-2.5m players and doesn't get nearly enough out of them. That has to change.
Keeping him vs over-playing him are different topics.

Could you rank who’s at fault and who should go to turn the franchise around a bit. - Boss34
Pegula is at fault, clearly. He is a fan boy who runs his team like it is a fantasy team. Ifhs was smart, which he isn't, he would appoi someone who is EXPERIENCED and KNOWLEDGEABLE in NHL hockey to be President to run the organaization. He is neither.
Next at fault is Kevyn Adams, who is doing his best, but it isn't good enough because he has no experience and no one above him to talk to who is experienced and knowledgeable. No one to bounce ideas off. His plan, so far is reflective of someone without experience...pie in the sky and very little based in reality. He hasn't been able to negotiate a suitable trade to move this club forward...lots of talk, no action. He contradicts his words via action. He literally has zero clue on how to move the club forward.
Lastly, Donnie is at fault. He is the living ample of the Peter Principle. He has taken the club as far as he can. He is is not well suited for an NHL HC position and is struggling before our eyes. No sense of system, in-game tactics, and has crumpled under the pressure of make or break for a playoff spot. That fact has seeped into the Players who are similarly crumbling.
Lastly, an inexperienced Coaching Staff is at fault.
Summary - appointing all inexperienced resources at the most crucial positions within a sports franchise.
You get what you pay for....in this case, INEXPERIENCE, and it shows in spades. |

Absolutely agree with your past post
These guys should be situational players at best as 4th liners . Okposo should not be on the 1st line or either pp.
Girgensons should not be playing late, down a goal
Both guys have injury histories to boot…. |

Rousek's one way deal makes him almost a lock to take a 4th line role next season. Good chance he's up around the TDL.
Does Robinson bring more than Girgs right now? If he does, aren't there 50 other guys sitting out there this summer as well? There's a clear need to shake things up a bit.

Yakov Trenin or Joshua would be good adds IMO. They bring things this Team desperately needs and either one can still play and add |

Aren't you a die hard Sabres fan and STH?
Have you paid attention the past 13 years,?
JC! The organization has struggled to attract suitable GM's, Coaches and Players for 10 years.
Of course they have a "don't want to work there" problem. |

Yeah, I think we can do better than Robinson and Girgensons.
I’m not expecting huge changes to the roster
Probably extend mitts for 6 years
Move on from :
Ej
Okposo
Olofsson
Maybe Krebs gets moved

Disco Dan seemed like a good hire, former cup winner as coach
Phil was an up and coming coach in the nhl

I think that was the plan coming into this season. They need to do more now.
Will KA have some urgency if his job's on the line?

I think we see more of the same, probably depends on the finish to the season?
I could see the Sabres finishing fairly strong and feeling content to roll it back again .
