Has anyone regressed more than Raddysh?
Has he "caught" a pass on his stick? - vabeachbear
He’s been disappointing for sure, along with Reichel as well, add Hall’s and AA’s injuries and it’s easy to see why the Hawks are such a low scoring team. |

Soderblom needs to paint that mask the correct color of Blackhawk red. I haven't said since I thought months ago, but I think k that;s the answer. |

So frustrating watching a shorthanded 2 on 1 and they don’t even get a shot off. Raddysh should be ashamed. - Chunk
Fairly certain I saw Radidysh get hurt in the first period but came back and toughed it out. Not an excuse, just an explanation.
I just looked at the TOT and he played two minutes less than his line. |

Vlasic has a real nice quick release from the point. He hardly ever winds up for a slap shot he just gets a nice hard low wrist or snap shot at the net. |

I was thinking of posting here during the game about who is the most disappointing player this year. Just because my answer is Raddysh. He has been night and day so much less effective this season. |

#55 might just have played his best game in the league, very impressive tonight. |

As much as I agree, hard to argue against Reichel. |

Paired with Tinordi
Learning to use his body more playing defense
Only around 19 NHL games second year pro
Hope he can develop into solid third pair
Could benefit in development here and more AHL
Choose to dress him and sit Phillips |

One or two guys in their early 30s on a very short term contract may be good but what decent player in his early 30s will be looking for that type of contract? They’re looking to cash in on a longer term deal and those traditionally are the contracts that get teams in trouble. - paulr
I know a guy who was living near the beach in California working for Toyota. Nissan wanted him. He took the money and moved to Nashville. Davidson is overpaying below average guys by $3 million per year. Find someone who can play with Bedard and over pay that guy.

It was Campbell who turned things around? Not Toews, Kane, Hossa, Keith, Seabs, Hammer, or Crow?
Cmon, man... - mohel
Just a piece of the puzzle for sure. The Hawks are years away from Salary Cap trouble. There is a lack of depth to trade for young players with potential. Buffalo isn't trading Middelstadt for Reichel. It would be foolish to trade picks at this point. Free Agent signings are the only way they are going to be competitive until the picks potentially evolve. No reason for this franchise to have $16 million or more of unused cap space.

They are in year 2 of a rebuild. I think Davidson can go out and get some talent to augment the team’s youth without doling out a Campbell-like contract.
If memory serves 51 got something like 8mx8yrs which also made him one of the highest paid dmen.
Also, other than you saying so why is it “past time”? - HawkintheD
I think they should spend close to the cap either through free agency or taking on bad contracts for more picks. They saved themselves over $16 million by not doing it this year and they have no Cap issues upcoming for 4 years. Signing free agent NHL players will slot the prospects so they can develop and aren't rushed. They tanked for Bedard and were rewarded. Enough tanking. Put a couple of high end players on Bedard's wings next season.

My post was about Korchinski, I believe that he was paired with Megna. |

Honestly i feel like you want to ruin the rebuild before it even gets started. - BetweenTheDots
How does it ruin the rebuild to add a couple of top players? Besides Bedard nobody is getting paid here for 4 years if ever. It might even help Vlasic and Korchinski to have forwards that can catch their breakout passes. Bedard would be a better player if someone had the hockey sense to read off of him.

What does a guy living on a beach in California moving to Nashville have to do with hockey?
The Hawks overpaid second rate players to sign. But they didn’t have to provide term or movement clauses. Do you think a top free agent is taking two years and signing without a movement clause? Like you, I want to see this rebuild sped up. But getting into cap problems signing 30 year old to long term contracts isn’t going to work long term. The Hawks already have a potential albatross of a contract in Seth Jones.

Agree. If they don't show some progress Bedard might tell them to stick it when his contract is up. Not to mention the D men. It's a long season to begin with, and losing makes it painful too. |

Find me a 22-24 year old free agent they could sign?
I don't want a 30 year old overpaid on a 8 year deal. That's the best way to destroy a rebuild. |

MacKinnon, J. Hughes, myriad EDM players all were on crap teams early on and stayed long term (unless the team traded them).
Yes it sucks now, but don't go off the deep end about players not wanting to be in CHI. They have tons of young talent coming up and just need to get through the poop times to get to the good. |

For 22-24 year olds they are going to have to scout Europe and pray.
Sam Reinhart is 28 and Unrestricted. Maybe a $9-10 million player. Probably a top 50 type NHL player. Great passer. Real smart. Do you think it would kill the rebuild to go sign him for 7 years at $13 million and put him next to Bedard? Just like my friend from Toyota, they are going to have to "over pay" him to leave a beach for the Midwest.
The Hawks can always choose to passively build internally and keep Kurashev on Bedard's wing.
