The irony is that Cozens and Krebs have been great going on 2 months now.

Power is going through growing pains any U21 defender faces but as a whole has been a viable 2nd pair d-man.


The biggest problems are Tage and Skinner. I think injuries are a huge part of it, but at the end of the day they both need to be much better.

I know you watch the games but comparing Okposo to Cozens isn't exactly a good comparable. They have the same amount of goals, that's nice, but only one has a very bright future. Having Okposo still on this team makes sense to someone but because you watch the games you can't really believe he belongs

Boss, you're missing the larger point. This is happening because the team has no standards at any level. It doesn't matter exactly WHY this is happening, the reality is it is happening, and ownership sees no reason to change anything to improve it.

Ergo, this is acceptable. There is no accountability on any level and the players have responded to that

I’ve definitely boo’ed this season , but didn’t take part in the “fire Donnie” chants. (Mainly because we couldn’t figure out what they were chanting from the clubs)

Being a captain of a hockey team is a mid management level position. It’s your job to juggle communication between the coach and teammates.

He probably has as much more in common with Donnie than benson.

This bothers me as a sth. Seems ungrateful on the Sabres part for sure. If kyles feelings are hurt , they should have spoke up. Hard to speak up when you suck at home and know you deserve to be booed.

IMO it is them as being symbolic of the failed effort to do what was necessary to win. It's pathetic really that those two are pointed at as being leaders for a serious hockey team...rather, for a collection of players the owner likes on his team as good guys, sure I can see that.

Let's not confuse the two. The Sabres as an organization are not serious about winning, else:
-Terry wouldn't be President, rather just an owner paying the bills
-Kevy wouldn't be GM, rather the Accounts Payable Manager, maybe Administrator
-Donnie wouldn't be Head Coach, rather Development Coach
-all Assistant Coaches would be Insurance Salesmen

With the way the new stadium will be built, I would think it would be a prime candidate for a Winter Classic/Stadium Series game. Hopefully, a whole new management group will be operating this team like competent adults by then so that the league is compelled to come here.

Especially when your GM does nothing to help carry them over.

The only reason the Pegulas are "successful" NFL owners is because the NFL is very good at keeping the owners in line. Unless you're Robert Kraft or Jerry Jones, the mandate is "your job is to write checks and let the adults handle the things that matter". The NHL lets owners like the Pegulas treat their franchises like a toy, and this is the result you get.
