Never advocated for anything, just brought up different points. - Buff36
Fair. I wouldn't trade futures for him though.
Enough of spending 3 million on absolute garbage. |

We're seriously talking about paying a 4th line center 3million.
I thought the cap was going to start to matter? - DirtyDan
He has played more LW for them this year, and he is tough to play against and not just a 4th liner. A player that plays a style that we could use. |

I don't understand the question. You qualify Joker at 2.6m without a second thought. Why would you qualify someone any higher than you have to? - Lunaion
Great, you qualified Jokiharju.
He's ARB eligible.
What are you doing after that? |

If you're going to play garbage at least pay them the 900K they're worth. |

Hes listed as their 4th line C. Hes taken 621 FO's.
Hes not what we need. Especially at 3million |

KA might offer a third for him.
He not worth a 5th. - DirtyDan
I don't think he's that bad. He gets too many d-zone starts to have pretty fancy stats. I don't hate him for the 4th line, I just don't see the point either, especially not for Krebs. To me that's a downgrade. |

Extend or trade. QO is the obvious part.

I think he's terrible when you consider his contract.
And yes trading Krebs for a 30 year old 4th line C would be a major downgrade.
If Krebs has no value now... there's no risk in holding onto him.

Well, guess it depends on the intentions or expectations are for Krebs. You didn't get him in the Eichel trade to be a 4th liner, and if that's how you see him. Then you gave short changed yourself because his Worth isn't there anymore. Sorry the shine has worn of Krebs and the Sabres did it to themselves. - Buff36
Krebs is playing with Benny and Petey right now, so I think they've realized he's better than a 4th liner. We'll see how he plays with better linemates, but with Laughton we know, and it's not great. I'd rather have someone with an unknown future than a bad past. |

It’s basic logic, Krebs starts with a K, Laughton starts with an L, Larry start with an L. The trade must be completed.
As for Girgs and Okposo, they have a record of losing greater than any tandem in the history of the game, those are capital L’s that are branded to them.
I hope my Ted talk has cleared any discrepancies. |

If the ARB award is too high, do they walk away?
Do they decide to not even qualify him? |

Do you know how many conversations you just started? That’s going to take Adams 3 years to discuss prior to acting. |

He won't hit the walk away number.
This shouldn't be a concern. Worst case is they give a million more than they'd like for a year.
Trade or extension is the decision.

Given the cap space we have it's unlikely they let him walk, no? |

No chance they let him walk. He's worth something, and frankly, they won't have an easy time upgrading over him. I'm sure they wanted to last summer and wound up with Clifton.

Ryan Johnson is the Joker upgrade.
Dahlin-FIND A PARTNER
Power-Johnson
Samuelsson-Clifton
I dont like Samuelsson on the 3rd pair at 4+million but it is what it is. |

Really wish Pesce didn't say no, he'd be a great fit for us. What do you think about Matt Roy, Sean Walker or Chris Tanev? |

Nope. How many better RHD's can you find that might be available and don't break the bank?
The entire league wants Andersson and he probably isn't available anyways.

Notice you don't have Johnson in the 'find a partner slot' where Joker has played most of the past 4 years.

“Sabres top 3 xG% players in 2024 (Via EH // min 125 TOI)
• Mittelstadt - 55.43
• Peterka - 55.05
• Krebs - 54.38
Bottom 3 in xG%
• Skinner - 41.52%
• Power - 42.21%
• Thompson - 44.15%”
Well deserved move up the lineup for Krebs.
I didn’t have Skinner, Tage, and Power being god awful since the calendar flipped to 2024 on my bingo card |

So again, for the purposes of this exercise, we are going to pencil in a Sabres signing of #GoKingsGo RD Matt Roy at our projection👇#NHL #LetsGoBuffalo 6/12

Walker would be at the bottom of my list.
Not familiar with Roy.
Tanev might be a decent stop gap. Hes 35 at the end of the year. We have the ammunition. No reason not to aim higher imo. |
