Wouldn't you love to know what goes on behind closed doors there? Any statistically inclined person knew this, and they have guys who have 100x the information and devote their careers to this. They must know. Do KA/Donnie/Terry just block it out and live on positivity and vibes?
This wasn't a scenario where they had to have depth to deal with injuries, they knew from early in the offseason that they had a problem and ignored it. VO and Jost are pathetic answers for a playoff team. - Lunaion
You don't need to be a data scientist, as simple logic and common sense would tell you what lesson should be learned from last season.
The GM is too busy trying to be nice to everyone, instead of adhering to a coherent, consistent vision, aside from being a bottom 5 spending team. |

And he will absolutely forfeit a round or two in the Erik Johnson trade to make sure he goes where he wants as opposed to what’s best for the team.
Gotta appease the guy who spent 6 months here |

Never seen the Four Falls of Buffalo
Just watched the first two minutes and had to turn it off
Not only have I never seen a place so proud of losing, a team so proud to be losers, people so enamored with being losers…
I would say this city has a borderline obsession with losing.
What a joke lol |

18% would rank 22nd in the league. So at its peak, it’s a below average PP.

These idiot season ticket holders have been brainwashed. "I do not want to get rid of my seats because they are so good and if the team ever becomes good then I will not have as good a seats." Really? When do you think this team will ever be good? Do you think they will have this miracle recovery? Do you really think this team will win the Stanley Cup in five years? Do not waste anymore money on this team. With Bidenomics, you will need to save your money so you can buy food. Watching your retirement and standard of living go by the wayside is bad enough, and then pay top dollar to watch your team lose game after game is just too much. Stop rewarding Poogoola with your hard earned cash to allow this agony to go on for so long. Would you pay top dollar for a car that doesn't run on all cylinders? Boycott this fiasco. |

Don't think Granato knows what to say anymore. Eric Johnson singlehandedly cost them that game last night!
Gotta a Question for all those people that called people Crybabies or Whiners on here. How's all those 1 year Deals looking, sure looks like they did matter. |

The run is likely not coming, I have thrown in the towel.
They have played good hockey from January 1st on but have left too many points on the table.
I’ll just never understand the people who react to October and November hockey like there aren’t teams that start slow and make a push.
We see it every year - Swedish_Jesus
True.
That said, I was con earned on opening night when each and everyone of the players looked scared and frightened during the opening ceremony while being introduced at center ice, no smiles, no energy, just blank stares like the perverbial deer in the headlights.
Something wasn't right then and it hasn't been right for the entire season.
Sounds weird, but it is true. |

Philly’s is just as bad as us, but they have the #2 ranked PK.
St.Louis is around 18% but since they made the coaching change have been a top 5 unit and that’s why they are back in the race.
Pittsburgh is going to single-handedly miss the playoffs because their PP sucks.
Rest of those in the race teams probably miss - Swedish_Jesus
Coaching is a big part of this. Wrong players on our top unit for half the season. Skinner is not a good PP guy. Obviously Okposo had no business being there.
I’d swap out Skinner for Greenway and park him in front. Put skinner on the second unit for Okposo |

Tough spot if our intention is to move him I guess.
I’m not sure who’s sitting in the scouts box and reports back that they want Johnson on any given night. |

Time to accept that Tage is not a top guy. We need a top guy who can bail us out. Tage is a strong complementing player. |

I can't wait to see this one-stop, multi-player trade Adams is reportedly trying to orchestrate.
Lol. The guy has a hard time trading assets for future considerations. |

Listing the above got me thinking about what is the major change each should make to the way they operate that would have the biggest positive impact on the results of the organization. My thoughts are below and would like to see what others here think...
-Owner, to act like a secure person would and go hire the best talent to run the ship on his behalf. In other words, find an experienced Hockey Person to serve as President, then get out of his way.
- GM, be more aggressive in making moves to propel the team forward. Realize that a good hockey trade is when both sides win... Which enables more opportunities to work with other GM's. The Darcy mantra of needing to win every single deal only served to let opportunities pass by....Adams seems to have a lot in him in that regard.
- Head Coach, become more Data Driven by leveraging Advanced Analytics in decision making to the benefit of the team rather than "driving by feel".
-Asaistant Coaches, go study for the various Insurance License Test... You're going to need them soon.
-Players, realize winning is primary. It is why you get up in the morning. The vibes are secondary, nice to have but unnecessary. Call each other out (privately) and hold each other accountable ... Good isn't good enough, and bad is unacceptable. Be change agents not rudderless fools.
What you got?

This is the 2nd “no excuses” season Adam’s has had, that’s failed miserably!
How many of those should the President of hockey operations allow his GM to have? |

Listening to the WGR morning show and they had a quote from Sean McDermott on his day one press conference where he said in so many words, "I'm part of the team now, so I own the 17 year playoff drought"
Meanwhile captain Kyle has been here for 8 of 13 and won't own it.
