He didn't ask to leave, Mgmt. told him they were moving on.

Did you hear the post game reporter ask Kane if he thought he might finish his career with the Hawks? I literally swore outloud in that moment. Kane answered with class. But who does that kind of thing, besides Paul Bissonette????

He’ll retire as a Hawk, but it will be a one day contract. But you’re right, classless reporter.

You actually think it was that black and white? Personally, I don't buy it. Kane was pretty upfront when asked about rejoining the Hawks.

"They're rebuilding, so that's never crossed my mind to be honest with you"

The rebuild just doesn't fit with what Kane is looking for with their career. If Kane/Toews (if healthy) wanted to go through the full rebuild and be Blackhawks for life, they would have been. At the end of the day it's a business and their careers, but no way was it only that management saying they are out. That's BS IMO.

I'm still mad at Tommy Ivan for trading Esposito, Hodge and Stanfield.
- rpeters01

That was Dollar Bill. Espo wanted too much money and did not like playing in Hull's shadow. And it is the exact reason Hull left. Tightwad Wirtz.

I was shocked the fan base was so tame. I was actually hoping for some Cheli drama. Those were the days.

In know one thing...if I had been there I would have gotten to Octopuss thrower before security, as I had a couple times in the past.
One resulted in them showing me the video before they tossed my lying I didn't do ass out the side door.
I connected on both occasions.
This was during the days when the UC was new, the Hawks were awful and there were more red Wing fans filling seats than Blackhawk fans. Someone ahd to do SOMETHING.
(oh, just thought of this one too: I got kicked out at an intermission after I was flashing my wallet like I was security and making detroit sweetened individuals stand up against the wall, motherfrankers, because there were reports they ahd octopi on their person. I guess in the 18 minutes I did it to tooo many ticket holders in the same area, thatt they squealed...I should have gone corner to corner to corner. They threw me out that time, but no threats of arrest on this one.)

Hawks could always trade him for Vlasic's cousin from San Jose. Bad contract for bad contract? If Greer was able to move Karlsson and only retain $1.5 mil., why can't KFC be just as resourceful?
- LAHawk

Karlsson has much more offense to offer than jones

Jones isn't worth his cap hit, but he's a better option than most of the other Hawks d-men.

At this point, Jones' cap hit isn't hurting the Hawks at all. The Hawks are another two seasons away from needed to re-up Bedard and others, at that point I would expect to see significant increases in the salary cap.

I'm not trying to defend Jones, but I'm not criticizing him either. Once the team has more talent and relies on Jones less I believe he will perform much better. Right now the Hawks biggest concern is putting the in the net, particularly forwards not named Bedard.

When Jones was injured earlier this season the team was much worse.

If he didn't sign Seabrook to that last contract, no need to trade Panarin. Again everything is in hindsight.
- LAHawk

Seabrook vs Panarin. Panarin would have been second choice in the fans eyes everytime.

Seabrook's contract was panned by fans the instant he signed it, and as injuries and age took it's toll the vitriol directed at Seab's was about to the level as it is to Jones now, even with his 3 cups.

"Lemieux and Pronger" .... ok, so which Lemieux? Assuming Claude I guess. There were a few that were around in the 80's. Hunters weren't exactly angels (Dale and Mark mostly...).

Larmer was not overshadowed by Secord - largely because Secord's tenure on the Hawks was so much briefer, and it probably might have only really been in 82-83. Great line though. There are a ton of videos including full games on U-Tube ... feel free to see for yourselves. Larms was great, and thrived no matter of it is was with Savvy as C or JR.

Yes!!

Why don't they start honoring bathroom stalls in the UC. I'll wait extra in line to go in the Van Dorp dumper.

Reflections on the Chicago Black Hawk Fan Cuckhold night.

If it were the old stadium and fan base, Cheli and Kane would have gotten a tip of the hat and a round of applause. But after the Kaner video 5 minutes in, he should have been booed every time he touched the puck thereafter.

He should have been made to feel uncomfortable. Instead, the fans cheered as he ran a batch on their pillow.

What a disgrace.

- TrueGrit

What a horrible take and that rivals your thought process that scratching Stalberg was going to derail their 2013 cup run.

Kane didn't ask out. Hawks PUSHED him out...big difference....and go back a solid decade ago when Chelios was booed on his heritage night.

Old school. Long time no see TG. Those days are behind us. Kane is and probably will always be loved by Hawk fans. The Hawks suck at the moment and the fans have only the recent past and the future to be excited about. However if in two years in the unlikely event the Hawks become contenders I’m sure you’d see another reaction.

I am not going to continue to harp on the Bowman era...think we can all agree the rebuild and pieces in place internally to replace core guys running on fumes could have been handled better.....the Jones deal is more on bowman's bosses than it is on him, but its hard to watch #4 play hockey on a nightly basis.

As 6628 said he's just a hockey meatball with little hockey IQ and likely why teams ship him out regardless of the flashes.

Lucky for guys like me, Jones will ask out here soon. If you care to hear/read his quotes he's starting to boil over and god willing he goes to KD very soon and Davidson can get something for him once guys like Vlassic are ready to take on that role.

I 100% agree with Trob.....Jones is not a #1 and 90% of the time not a #2.....and that's before you get to his raging ego and poor leadership. Like I mentioned early this year....if the Hawks internally thought they had guys to set the right culture a guy like Foligno is not being traded for.....and guys like him and 16 aren't being extended. Even Tinordi at least speaks truth and doesn't run around in cliches without any care to assume responsibility like Jones.

Tick tock....

So the fact that coach Q rode #2, #4, #27, and #7 to death, and relied on his blanket Rosival all those years, and benching or ignoring/not developing Kempney/Forsling, etc.

Rundblad played 49 games on year (the 14/15 season, the cup year, played 5 games the prior/ and 9 games the year after. Kempney plaid a season adn a half and Forsling played 3, so i don't understand your sticking with Rundblad statement.

Forsling was a last minute pick up before the season (like the Hawks did with Tinordi) from Carolina after one year back in Europe. Great get from Zito, but if the Panthers weren't looking for a defeseman as an injury replacement, you porbably would never of heard about Gustav Forsling again.

What good was it to bring in young D when Q wouldn't give them the time of day anyway.

- LAHawk

So what you’re really saying is that Rundblad is a Stanley Cup Champion. 👍

I wasnt criticizing jones. I simply was replying to the suggestion that KFC could make a similar trade as karlsson. I feel it would be problematic as karlsson offers much more that jones. At this point there is no need to move jones unless someone makes an offer you cant refuse.

Not only did the hawks show Kane the door, but they video'd him walking down the hall, equipment bag over his shoulder, out the door, and waiting for a cab on the street corner. And then showed that video on tv. I'd love to know if he had to pay his own way to NY. Sure Kane could afford it, but that's not the point. To me it looked like they ran him out and tried to embarrass him. I wasn't there sunday but I'm told the tribute video was half ass. Reminds me of the time Florida fired Gerrard Gallant on the road and made him pay his own way back home.
In both cases horsepoop low class way to operate. IMHO.
