The Sporting News has the Hawks drafting Charlie Elick, a defenseman, with the 18th pick. Doubt it. They have Tanner Howe, Bedard's buddy from Regina, going to Colorado at 25.

I dunno I see the 5th and 6th rounders they have are to either draft a developmental goalie, or long term developmental defenseman although who knows if someone they like slips to #147….and as far as taking a defender at #17-up where ver TB ends up after the playoffs, well we cannot predict if the get a forward at #1, but I am bolster the forward position regardless, because there are more interesting prospects and the fact that no one knows how high the watermark is on the non-first round rearguards, there are going to plenty of defenders in this draft that I think WILl blossom from many of the later rounds.
I am taking big Scandi forwards in the 2nd and 3rd too.

Wonder if it is really planned that way but it seems like a trend. No noticeable jumps from any of these players so far. Juntorp went back to Sweden after being in the USHL in 22-23.

The Hawks desperately need to acquire that coveted 4th round pick this draft. The lack of 4th round picks is a gap that will stunt the team's development.

I can’t think of a way he can be pried out unless draft picks or prospects are offered. Apparently Edmonton still want to add, if they could lose the cap hit of Jack Campbell maybe Holloway is the price? That would be an enormous risk for KD though.
