I’d recommend Brazilian Ju Jitsu. If it’s good enough for Al Bundy it’s good enough for Bedard.

Bedard doesn’t have to shave yet so he can take regular ju jitsu.

Watching the Leafs/Bruins game. It’s odd watching teams that can complete passes. I forgot what that’s like.

What surprises me isn’t the deal, it’s the fact you have, or claim to have, a friend. 😇

Not gonna lie I was hoping no one would call me out on that. Fine, an acquaintance of mine asked.

honestly they are really getting to the point of being unwatchable.

I knew it would be a rough rebuild, so I was prepared, not prepared to watch for 3 hours a night though.............

It’s absolutely imperative for KD to have a much better on ice product next season.

Ya, pretty sure he knows that. They wouldn't be this bad, but with the guys they have out, it makes it impossible to compete. Not that they would have been great, but they'd be a lot better.

If you get vets, injury is always a strong possibility.

Agree. They need more than just a few new faces at fwd next season. Should be an interesting offseason...hopefully more interesting than most of the regular season's been anyway.

I know KD was tanking again this season and didn’t try to make moves to improve the club when injuries started mounting. Next year he has to make offseason moves to improve the team and not go dumpster diving when there are injuries.

Looks like Conner Bedard is shaping his eyebrows...his siter must be back in town, her turn to baby sit.
Or he went to a beauty salon.

Would you recommend Bedard take boxing lessons in the offseason or train in MMA?

I think the Hawks have a boxing instructor, the one they had at summer propspects camp.

Yep, some days you simply have had enough and find another game to enjoy the sport.. But, like tonight, I see Crevier and KK turn their back to a shot and simply tie an opponent up in the blue paint making sure no way they get to a loose puck. ..... Small steps but important ones.

Listening to the COL feed they go on and on about Bedard, like they all do, then mention wow, Bedard flew the zone awfully early on that play. ... Indeed, every game but blink and you might miss something you have never seen.

We all understand what injuries have done to the squad but KD is in charge. It's up to him to provide the coaches with enough to develop the kids. Sure, he has excuses but all that means is there were too many games, lost opportunities, to develop these kids.

Don't know what to do about next yr but a good portion of this yr is unacceptable. If you gotta ink a player to too much term or money next yr to help develop the kids, do it........ Don't let perfect be the enemy of good. Get some NHL caliber players into the the lineup and develop these kids..

Never could stand the Rado broadcast but as bad as it is it's better than what the Biz Lady is jamming down our throats. But even then, I could not take the Rado call anymore and switched to the CHI feed for the 3rd.

Yea, they rode the Caleb v Seth all they could including talking to Popeye. ... No doubt, the Rado broadcast is as homer as any I've heard. .. Too bad, cuz visually an Av's game gives a hockey fan all they could hope for in speed/skill.

Bedard does not have one top 6 player to set up or receive passes from. I don’t recall any recent hyped rookies having a team this bad. Crosby had Lemieux, LeClair, Recchi, Palffy. McJesus had Hall, Draistl, Eberle and Nugs. Even Matthews had Nylander, Marner and Kadri. Things can only get better.

I’ve noticed that the forwards generally don’t drive to the net other than Foligno but rather go to the perimeter or more disturbingly, skate up to the blue line for more room like when Makar pushed Blackwell out.

I still think Bedard will play better with Foligno and the Bedard, Kurashev need a player like him. Again, at this point, rather than balance, LR needs to build up at one line that can score.

One of the things that jumped out to me at the WJC right away was how Bedard did not back away from dudes in his face or giving him the business. Think they opened v Slovakia and it was apparent right away they were gonna be physical with him during play and after the whistle and he gave back as good as he got from much bigger players.

I'd seen a good handful of WHL games and he wasn't challenged that way so it was new to see him have push back.

Then his first game back from having his face exploded, think it was the 1st period, he took the puck and cut right into the middle high slot. Was listening to the PITT feed and they pointed that out, that the kid showed no fear first game back going to greasy/dangerous areas.

He's getting compared to Kaner in a lotta ways, the skill and lack of defense, but he's no Kaner in that this kid will engage where Kaner would not.... In fact it might be a concern. Imperative he plays the game that got him to where he is but getting mutilated ain't no good for him or the franchise. I assume he'll figure that out as he goes but he needs to understand there will always be guys out to destroy him, especially come playoffs.

And to add to the conversation about him taking abuse from opponents, just like Crosby/McDavid and a slew of skilled guys throughout history, I was listening to the EDM feed when the Hawks played the Oilers and they mentioned they asked Perry what has stood out to him being an Oiler for 5 games.

No hesitation Perry responded the abuse McDavid takes every game. Said he never realized this as an opponent but sitting on the bench watching game in game out he was amazed at the whacks to the hands and slashes, besides clean hits, that McD dealt with every game. ........ Just a reality for the top players in the game and I have no doubt Bedard knows that.

That said the kid does take whacks at goalies who have already frozen the puck. Not the best idea to give the opponent more reasons to "take him out" on plays that are meaningless.

Back at it tonite in the dessert. Didn't watch the last 10 mins but thought they played ok last nite for the most part. Would've been nice if Bedard scored on the breakaway on a beautiful pass from Korchinski. Oh well...hoping for a goal or two tonite.
