Why is there a group of Blackhawk fans that get so upset when there is ANY criticism of Seth Jones? His contract = HORRIBLE (THANKS STAN!!!! ). His play, EXTREMELY inconsistent. Out of the 7 top paid Defensemen, Jones has the least number of goals (3) and points (20) out of all of them. His numbers make him the 72nd ranked Defenseman in the League, despite missing several games due to injury. Yes, he is on the last place team in the League, but despite all of these inhibiting factors, his play does not live up to his contract. The Hawks SHOULD look to trade him ANY WAY POSSIBLE.... To get his bad contract out of town and because the Hawks have A TON of cap space, here is a proposed trade:
Seth Jones & Oliver Moore to Vancouver.
Elias Pettersson, OEL's contract, 2025 1st rnd pick & the 2024 2nd rnd pick to Chicago.

I don't think anyone gets upset if there is criticism of Seth, I just think there are some (myself included) that don't think he is that detrimental to the team, and by the time they have to pay others, his contract won't matter. Is he way overpaid for what he does at the moment? Absolutely. Does it matter right now? Nope.

If he starts having a negative effect on the kids or asks out, then sure maybe look into moving him. Otherwise, he's just going to be an annoyance for a while.

I think the difference is Linus actually expected something to happen. Apparently teams weren't blowing up KFC's phone for Tyler Johnson or Colin Blackwell. Go figure.

With AA, coming back (expected to play tomorrow), the Hawks have 13 active forwards. If Zaitsev is ready to come back, I'd bet we see Phillips drop back down. Have to wait and see if/when Slaggert or Nazar would be available. I'm not sold that Nazar isn't going back to UM yet.

I was hoping for the Hawks to sign him, two year contract would have been perfect. I’m surprised that he didn’t wait for free agency, probably could have signed for three or four years.

I figured they would make the trade "for the player" with him.
