Davidson suggested he thinks the Blackhawks' two remaining salary retention spots will be more valuable down the road than they would've been this week, because he was only geting offered late-round picks to be a broker.

Retaining on Hall and Donato next season.

yeah, I thought might work, but no bigeee.

I would have liked a Roslovic trade if all you pay is a conditional fourth...

SJ got quite payday for Hertl - they may not have Bedard but they can start putting space from them and the Hawks....

Is Edstrom that good? Picking 28th or lower in the 1st round doesn't seem like much of a haul.

With the moves the Sharks made at the TDL I don’t see them finishing in any place other than 32nd.

The Hawks should prepare to draft 4th.

Logan Couture is out for the season as well. There’s no doubt that the Sharks are odds on favorites to finish last in the league. I changed my mind, the Hawks need to play Tinordi, Megna, and R Johnson every game down the stretch.

What's to like about Buffalo? Theyre drowning in mediocrity and have zero super stars outside of Dahlin. They just traded their best forward in Mittlestadt.

Most of that team had an unusually high shooting percentage last year.

They don't have a lot of dominant play drivers. Most of the team is over 50% but that doesn't include Cozens. Krebs is their best forward and Thompson is sure having a step back year. Wonder how sustainable shooting 15% is over the course of the rest of his career - especially with no one to give him the puck.

Vegas has been in the playoffs every year but one, gone to 3 WCF finals, 2 cup finals and won one.

Those results are much better.

I believe Buffalo is accumulating depth you can't see right now.

Vegas is all in since they did a great job at their expansion draft. Every time someone compares Vegas to the rest of the league is a joke.

Call up Reichel too.

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Slaggert and/or Nazar play if their college seasons end early.

Why? Vegas had 3 First rounders the first year, they drafted Glass, Brannstrom and Suzuki. They traded them away, for mark Stone. Nolan Patrick, and Max Pacioretty. The owner wants the team to go for the Cup every year. He isn’t interested in rebuilding. At some point it probably will catch up with them. So far it hasn’t

I cannot recall Seattle getting the initial set up as advantageous as Vegas did.

They had the same exact conditions. GMs were better prepared when it was Seattle's turn.

Plus Tallon was no longer a GM and couldn't gift 2/3rds of a top line for Seattle.

Same exact rules, just other GM’s were smarter in how they handled exposing players. Vegas ended up eith both Marchrsssult and Smith because Tallon wanted to protect his defenseman Petrovic and Pysyk.

He wasn’t alone, Pittsburgh keeping Matt Murray instead of Fleury, Anaheim giving Vegas Theodore so that they would select Clayton Stoner. George McPhee should of been GM of the decade

He's in Anaheim's system. Gonna have to trade Bedard to get Sikura back here, maybe add Nazar as a sweetener.

Sen's claim Katchook
- LAHawk

Love this! I think at the end of last yr Katchouk turned a corner, a light went on, puck started following him and his 2nd rd pedigree showed........ With his skating, size and decent hands he might just be a useful 3rd liner. Ottawa is a mess with changes coming from top to bottom this offseason under their new owner.

Not a perfect situation but this will be the best talent he's skated with in the NHL since his rookie season in 21/22 with TB.

Yeah GMs got fleeced and for Seattle they weren't really interested in paying the high prices of first round picks to not take a guy.

David Clarkson from Columbus but had to take William Karlsson.

A little surprised noone else was moved at the deadline but it was a lot of low prices for guys this year.

I do think Chicago will be players in free agency to try to give Bedard some more guys to play with.

I think so to. He's kind of got no choice. KD has cleared the deck now its time to start building his team.

I do appreciate the fact he didn't make a deal just to make a deal.

I'm curious if the reason for the trade of the Frenchman is so that the number is available for the young man from Michigan?

Had to be something with Katchouk that displeased the coaching staff or front office. He's no world beater on ice but useful. I would have waived others on this roster b4 him.

(He and Raddysh were both on that 2018 Canada WJ team).
