"From the tweeter
Sheldon Keefe says this is a critical point for Timothy Liljegren’s development and wants a right shot in lineup: “Quite frankly, it kills me to have to sit Benoit here tonight, especially in this building.”

Its simple keefe, just dont sit him.

He really is clueless. Someone remind him he calls the shots. He's a damn nhl head coach. Act like it. Better yet just fire and replace him already.

Mitchy should have shot. He might have changed history and avoided his subsequent injury.

Omg anyone who thinks Benoit is better than Rielly Brodie Liljegren McCabe Lyubushkin or Edmundson is dense. He might be able to hit a little better and gets penalized more often than a couple of them but that’s it. He’s a bloody AHLer, hence the recent upgrades.

Well this TDL proved two things: young stud D and C can be traded and players with big contracts can also be traded mid season.

Oh and i guess 3rd is that Grier is a garbage gm.

Who the (frank) said Benoit was better than any of above?
Assuming that is just as dense, no?.

Well you’re one of the people saying not to sit him. So who do you sit so he can play?

He's been better than Liljegren. Visually and statistically. He brings an element that is desperately needed on this blueline that no one else does, anyone who wants to argue that is twice as dense.

Oh stop this stats nonsense. Liljegren has also been playing top pairing minutes with Brodie. Meaning the guys he faces are far more talented.

(frank) the AHLer. Lean on him all you want but thankfully professional coaches don’t think as densely as you.

What is that element, because if it is toughness/hitting I would say Emundson and Boosh bring it?

Strong, defensively reliable. Actually forces other players off the puck and clears the net. Defends his teammates, wins puck battles....

The criticism on Boosh has always been that he's mistake prone.

Edmundson may check those boxes but I'm also of the belief that when 5/6's of your blueline has defensive limitations, getting that down to 4/6 is actually not a bad thing.

One of the easier ways to tell someone is an actual idiot is if wanting to promote McCabes defensive abilities. The guy hangs his partner out to dry 3 times a game minimum.

Beniot is absolutely better than Brodie and Lily right now. poop, Rielly has been making more bad plays than Beniot, he's just been better offensively.

Beniot has been steady and consistent all year and the Beniot/McCabe pairing has been our best defensive pair. And they both are playing with edge and hitting.

Keefe is a horrible coach and even worse at putting this team together or leaving it together when it works.

Rielly, Boosh
Beniot, McCabe
Edmundson, Lily
Gio, Brodie

Should be the Leafs D going forward. Nothing else.

There is something genuinely wrong with you. Disagreeing with someone and it immediately becoming "(frank) the AHLer" and barfing up the garbage about professional coaches as if none of them have ever made an incorrect decision is confirmation.

There aren't many on here who routinely have such ridiculous opinions and are such an instant Richard about it, so you've got that going for you.

Dear god if it weren’t for injuries he wouldn’t have even played in the NHL this year.

Keep shaking your pom poms for him tho
