Jack Quinn skated today. - QuinnFan
Great to hear. We have a pretty good thing going. Don’t think he will be rushed unless we make the playoffs or get eliminated from contention |

That's what I meant, not this year. Wouldn't mind seeing him add himself to the list next year |

Interesting thoughts! Speaks volumes about what Okposo and Girgensons actual on Ice Leadership ment. - Buff36
I'm not sure how one (leadership from them) has to do with the other.
Not even sure I care that much to get into it. Your leaders certainly don't need to be your best players, but they should be great at enforcing good habits and strong work ethic on and off the ice.
Byram is certainly a player that can raise the tide with his recent experience on a cup contender. I suppose that's a kind of leadership.

Guess I meant to say, they won't consider him a 7th (certainly not as a developing player) as a full time player next year.
Just like every one of these guys, when they earn a look, they get it. |

This is very valid information. Any thoughts of bringing him back need to be squashed immediately |

I don't suspect that will be an issue.
He was sent there as a 'last shot' kind of thing.

you bastards!!!
The boys really miss daddy and will do whatever it takes to see him the soonest.
Their Captain still leads them from afar
Seriously though, Ekblad missed the last two games and Bennett missed last night. They’re going through a bit of a slump. Fell behind 3-0 two games in a row. Okposo has been in the injured Erod’s spot, and hasn’t looked horrible, but he should be the 13th forward when all are healthy. |

Losing Pedigree, how do you lead a team and teach them to Win. When you don't know how to do it. Leadership comes in different forms, just gaining information from Byram could help |

I was one of the first people to speak up after Eichel left endorsing Okposo as the C. Even up through last year and into the summer, I didn’t hate the idea of having him on the team.
But then both him and Girgs got resigned. For me it was one or the other with no real preference.
And then Adams doubled down on praising their leadership by then saying they were both almost solely responsible for the team’s “success” and he started talking about success like I did when I learned I could swear when no one was around and not get in trouble for it.
There has literally been no success for like 13 years and definitely not since Adams has been an employee of the Sabres.
It then made me question their leadership skills as schmoozing and that’s all that Adams is, a professional schmoozer. Of course he loved those players. They’re him. |

no doubt about it.
we've had a lot of guys that knew how to win. but not a lot of them had actual skill (at point of acquisition)
Johnson
Sheary
Gionta
Clifton (?)
Staal
Frolik
Scott Wilson
This is our track record. One time we had Chris Drury. |

They both brought likability, father figure type comfort, and locker room good vibes. The major issue is this was misconstrued as success.
What Byram brings is success. That’s what we should be chasing |

If they brought those, both have confirmed those are irrelevant tangibles that do not help the team win.

So sick of these men born after 1990 being obsessed with father figures, an entire hockey team full of men with daddy issues. Amazing. |

i got a hint from yesterday's interview that the sabres are moving past this concept, because they believe they have their own leaders.
