KK playing like the Gusbus tonight.
KK and Megna both -4 tonight. - LAHawk
They were on the ice for all five even strength goals. Not blaming Megna for all of those goals, as KK didn’t have his best defensive game, but like Chunk mentioned, be careful what you wish for. They need either Murphy, or a capable defenseman to play with KK. |

I think some better defensive forwards would help as well. |

Kaiser sort of seems to be what we were led to believe Mitchell was supposed to be
I would be curious if Mitchell has any hope to get stronger and handle NHL |

There are very few defenseman in the league that can handle Byfield 1 on 1 in front of the net. He has no chance when a second forward (especially on the PK) is left all alone in front of the net also.

That was never really his game. He was all about skating, puck control, positioning and stick work. I always thought he would end up at least being serviceable, but we'll see. Maybe he becomes the next Forsling, but more likely he ends up getting a couple more NHL shifts and ends up in the AHL or overseas. |

Yes, as well as more offensive power to keep the puck on the other end. |

For a guy who has played three games and two of them were a 4 goal loss and a 5 goal loss, Slaggert being a +1 is pretty impressive.
Cue the "that stat is meaningless!" crowd. |

Korchinski had a rough night and has experienced several rough nights recently. But that's to be expected, Duncan Keith wasn't an all star right away, it wasn't until he was 25 and spent 2 seasons in the AHL and 3 in the NHL before he really broke out. There are positive signs with Korchinski, I expect his game to develop and improve over time.
Something else that should improve is Korchinski's d-partner. I don't think it's realistic to expect much success playing with the likes of Megna or Tinordi.
Give #55 a few years under his belt and a decent partner then let's see how he performs.

Slaggert has played well in his limited role. I fully expect him to play next season in Rockford which could be a good thing.

I was only able to stay up for 1 period last night, I've been impressed with Slaggert, he looks like one of those hard to play against players. Coaching has been taken in and used in his game. Nice to see i hope he continues to keep playing the way he is.

I also thought Kurashev had an outstanding 1st period. |

Well it appears Blackwell will probably be out for awhile (possibly season ending). Slaggert will probably get regular shifts for the remainder of the season.

He's been good all season, especially since Bedard returned from injury.

I knew the Hartman trade would eventually start paying dividends. |

I know I'm not a big Murphy fan, although i think he's been playing better under LR, kind of worried about him, he's been out a while with a concussion right? |

For all our (including me ) dogging about Tinordi, last night showed me why he is on THIS roster.
I noticed last few games that Megna started with Korchinski, but usually around midway thru the first, LR changed the D to Tinordi-Megna and KK-Zaitsev. With Tinordi out, LR needed Zaitsev to be paired (and support) Kaiser, he couldn't have Megna and Kaiser, that would leave Kaiser "naked" his first game back.
Also Tinordi is on PK 2, LR isn't going to put Korchinski on the PK at all this year (understandable), and thus you had Kaiser battling the big boy's last night on the PK.
Hopefully KD can sign/pick-up a better 6th-7th veteran D next year than Tinordi, or at least one that is less injured.
