I remember when people were saying no one would want to sign or play for Chicago because of the Beach scandal.

The play-by-play guy on the Big10 network said that Nazar was a linebacker on skates. Never heard that before. He also said that Levshunov would be the second pick in the draft. Nazar was very noticeable tonight. The Refs didn't seem too interested in calling penalties. That third Michigan State goal should not have been allowed. Looks like the Hawks are in full tank mode! |

More and more I am thinking that if no Celebrini then Levshunov is going to be the choice. Watching a little more closely tonight and Levshunov seems to always be in position, is calm, and always making the right pass. Will need 2 more years to be really ready and that is just when Murphy's contract is up.
I have been pounding the table for Catton all year but it looks like he is falling in between the top 3 and the Tampa pick, so is not likely headed to CHI. - totem
Although he’s not my first choice, I’d be ok with Levshunov with the Hawks first pick. I see the value in drafting a high-potential RHD.
If KD selects Levshunov first I’d like to see him pick Hage with Tampa’s pick (assuming there are no surprise picks still available). |

Do the Hawks have any other mode than tank? |

LR is diggin Reichel's game tonight. Never saw coach juggle like tonight. Couple shifts it was Foligno-D!ckinson-Bedard.. Couple shifts Reichel with Bedard. .... Not sure if Kurashev was being double shifted but he was up and down the lineup.......
Nice to see em tie the thing and get at least a point. |

LR learned from the last OT. Kurashev, not Bedard, takes the draw to start OT, 10 seconds later Hawks win!! |

Reichel played well. What I didn’t like and it happened several times is he gets open for a shot , but he fades away from the net when waiting for the pass, taking himself away from a prime scoring area to s less advantageous one. But his play tonight was still a positive development. |

Here come the Hawks!
But too often
There go the Hawks
Loosing again
Except tonight
In the battle for worse point total
Question: How is going to Rockford next season helping Slaggert development? He should be here to stay. |

Time for a reminder that having the worst overall record, is not a guarantee to get the top overall draft choice.
*Exhibit A: 2022-23 Chicago Blackhawks' record not being the worst over all record in that season.
*Exhibit B: Connor Bedard
*Exhibit C: Other teams' sad or ticked off fans.
I rest my case, your Honor. |

Hey hey Wiz!
I checked last night and saw you updated your list over at lines.
Catton now at #3?
1st d man at #4?
Catton seems like a Blackhawks pick considering he is a high end skater.
Read an interesting article about Eiserman, where some scouts say he is selfish, but his coach telling him he has to shoot more |

When i read about Eiserman he's an interesting prospect. He's a fast skater but not great on his edges, he plays defense but has a tendency to circle instead of stop and start, great with an outlet pass in the defensive zone but not a great passer in the offensive zone, goes to the dirty areas, wicked shot that can score from anywhere. We need scoring desperately and if he does have an elite shot i think the Blackhawks draft him over the big guy. It seems everything else you can coach out of him, oh and the last thing that i read is he competes important trait. Whoever they choose I'm good with i like Bedard and Korchinski so we'll see.

I am not see this great lead that Artyom Levshunov or any of the defenders has on the forward field and it will probably get down to where certain teams select and what they think.
And although I don't see Berkly as the best Blackhawk fit let's not under rank him because someone saw scoring exploits of Demidov doing his splits, when he needs to have the ability to maneuver, and Bedard is the poster boy for a kid able to play undersized, so why not Catton?

Question to those who watch a lot of jr.s and college hockey. Outside of the college players generally being older, what are the differences between the 2? Is one more physical? Faster?
More offense or defense? - LAHawk
From being older NCAA hockey is more structured (lot more defense), mature, poised making it more predictable than Jrs. The players are stronger and have taken more coaching as an NCAA schedule is 35ish games whereas Jrs plays 70ish games.
Jrs is more spontaneous, less predictable and at times faster than Jrs making it a draw for a lotta hockey fans. ..... I've posted this many times over the yrs but the very best description I've read of the WJC tournament is, "this is the last time you'll see the top U-20 hockey players in the world play wide open hockey before they turn pro and have the wild horse coached out of them",. .. Indeed. |

I just finished the San Jose game - made the decision to forgo 1:30 am bedtime to watch it in replay.
Looks like they signed really good veterans the don't quit as their models for how to play in the bigs.
Two Things:
1) If the draft gets to them and the board says Bets player available, I take him, but ONLY he projects as a dynamic impact type player, not some safe could be more than a starter....if not get more attackers.
2) Maybe my Indianhead rose colored glasses are on, but I don't think #84 Slaggert is going to Rockford. He has enough smarts and game to replace someone here. |

Whoever wins the lottery, on draft day at a draft day bar after the team selects Celebrini,
The house music ought to play celebrate good times - an 80’s popular song still around - except the fans should shout out “Celebrini” over the music saying “celebrate.”
Menacing Sharks
If they add Celebrini plus Will Smith coming in with Eklund already present. Build/add around them |

How come I don’t hear any complaints that Jones should have passed to Bedard in OT instead of shooting? |

Because he scored? Think yours is mostly under the red font umbrella but Bedard was not really setting himself up in a shooting position when Kurashev passed to Jones. |

Sarcasm Hawk, haven’t heard much complaints about Jones since that game. Appears his shoulder was bothering him before he went on IL |

The lottery over?
Lots of teams can win those two slots.
What would the Ducks do with another centre?
I guess put another past draft prospect on the market?
I just want Pittsburgh and Devils to lose. |
