Run em up or fill em in

People want fighting out of the game or want to pretend its insignificant but watch the lowly sabres night in and night out not be a real team. They don't battle for each other or their coach, very little heart and are certainly not willing to collectively pay the price to win.

How can anyone in that locker room honestly look at each other and say they would do anything it takes together as a team to win?

Spot on. No pride. No leader. Soft Coach, coaches players to play soft.
It was the Leaf's fans fault...ask Tuch and Cozens...the fans didn't cheer enough for the Sabres, therefore the boys couldn't overcome their mental frailty.

Go Bolts!!!

I agree with your player ranks, I’d put the 24’ and 25’ 1st near the top though. Currently both are lottery picks.

Adams greatest assumed strength is drafting, so trading his best draft position would essentially be Adams working from a position of weakness. Is that in the best interest of the long term goal?

Granato will still be the coach, does trading for a gritty power forward help, if the system used by the team intentionally ignores the aspect of the game?

You know the old sports draft adage, BPA.
I personally don't agree with it, and don't believe teams actually live by it, rather it is some form of combination between need and bpa.

In the case of the Sabres who have stated they are building through the draft, it therefore follows that filling needs now becomes paramount through said drafts. It is especially true when the GM can't close deals to fill those areas of need via trades.

The style of play coached by Granato and his staff has exactly zero space in the NHL Playoffs. Furthermore, with zero spine on the roster they would get bullied out in the first round easily.

That as the backdrop, and with the strong probability that Granato finishes his 2 year stint here, maybe Adams should send a message and draft the more physical players...they maybe ready when Granato finishes his term.

Does it really matter? I mean, these responses that they didn't go around sucker-punching everyone when we lose are pathetic. What if they had won? Should they still have all dropped the gloves?
- Powerslave

Yes they should start from game one. Right now they are known as soft and there is only one way out. It won't take one fight or one guy. Their reputation is embedded deep and every team playing them takes liberties knowing they are soft and their coach is softer.
Signing a leader like Okposo didn't help on the toughest part but it came in handy for some never heard before excuses. It won't happen but the best way now to turn this around is replace KA and the coaching staff.

Lol drafting more physical players. Come on. That is a terrible idea.

When the bruins won the cup 20 years ago. Yeah sure. Physical players were in style to draft

Right now, it’s about speed, skill, and puck movement.

Having players like Erik Johnson, Kyle Okpsos, greenway, olofsson

They are human pylons out there that slow the pace of the game down. Which isn’t good.

Greenway was like a lost dog out there.

The leafs hurricanes panthers Avs are all amazing at it.

Just watch the Sabres try to break the puck out and how many times at our own blue line the forward fumbles the puck and loses it.

Interesting, now could be Savoie’s peak value, this off season has potential.

side note, why do we see 60 plus hits in playoff games then?

1 series last spring, they averaged 80 hits a game

Watch the Playoffs.

10 5'10" F is NOT the way to go.

Edit: and it is compounded when the F who are over 6'3" play like their 5'9" - 165lbs.

When ever the Sabres post anything on X regarding Pride they will say “We wish everyone a Happy Pride”. But today they post “Happy Easter to those who celebrate” I can guarantee way more people celebrate Easter than Pride. This organization worries more about their posts on X and social justice than they do about putting a competitive team on the ice. Sad.

He has 74 on the season....32 behind Samuelsson who has been out for an eternity.
Tuch has 67 to date.

Tage 6'7" 220lbs
Tuch. 6'3" 219lbs

Both play like 5'9" 161lb Ennis...although, even he had more hits in 3 of his seasons.

Quicky devolving the physicality debate into facepunching and 80s/90s hockey is so predictable and tired

Its hockey and this team routinely shows they arent in it to win it mentally or physically
