I think more of them were upset about Dobson's hit with seconds left. That could have been called boarding, but I doubt it would have changed much - JimmyP
That was a penalty and did lead to the empty net goal. If they call it the FO is in the Islander’s zone with 17 seconds left. It would have been a tense closing FO for sure. Glad the penalty wasn’t called.
Lost in all the nonsense is how god damn good Kyle MacLean has been. He's never gonna be a star but he is Cizikas reincarnated in a younger guy's body. If he can add a touch of offensive production to his game he could be a good third line center. Otherwise, I think he'll be a luxury 4th liner

Beat out that icing in the 2nd so they could get a much needed change. Guy works out there thay for sure.
Edit that may have been the 3rd, thinking back tlit was the 3rd

Nice to see Bridge has someone that can help the Islanders. We need to see more of this.
I've honestly seen more Ranger fans saying it was obviously accidental than not. Obviously there are the usual Twitter trolls that live to piss people off so they can get out their tweezers and beat off (and that's not specific to Ranger fans) but anyone with functioning eyes a modicum of objectivity can see that was a fluke play - eichiefs9
There were some on the Rangers Hockeybuzz. Someone was not happy about the Islanders blocking shots.

It should have been called, but now the Rangers know how it feels not to get a call.

Definite a missed penalty, but don't feel bad at all. Isles dominated 95% of the outdoor game until the refs gave the Rags a couple PP's late that led them to tying it up.

Bridgeport may have some bottom six/3rd pairing options, but that's about it. I don't have high expectations for guys like Dufour and Maggio and if Iskhakov doesn't get a look in the NHL by some point next season then he's probably not going to ever.

This is at least some help. The less you have to pay for bottom 6 talent, the more you have to spend on top 6. The problem is Mayfield and Pierre are locked into spots. It's a good thing MacLean had a connection, or he may still be in Bridge. Islanders do need to build up the prospect pool.

I'm not even sure Martin should fight the younger, bigger Rempe. There's nothing to be gained. And Martin has become one of the most dependable defensive forwards on the team. He leads the team's forwards in +/-. On the other hand, Rempe possesses no obvious hockey skills. - JohnScammo
By 'one of' you mean top 12?
They fought once before and while it tilted to Rempe, it wasn't that decisive. Point being, the addition of Rempe will mean little

I think the entire 4th line has been good. I know there's a lot of grumbling about the 4th line being over the hill or overpaid, but they are the least of the Isles' problems. I realize that +/- is an imperfect stat, but the top 3 forwards on a +/- basis are Martin +9; Clutterbuck +6; and MacLean +6. When I'm watching a game and the Isles are clinging to a one goal lead, the line that gives me the least agita is the 4th line. That line still does its job better than most other 4th lines in the NHL.

I thought Ishakov was going back to the mother land?

Smart player, knows his job and does it.
Fits right into the 4th line.
