The Flyers are not a team with a true 1C or 1D for that matter. And Nathan McKinnon is not walking through that door either. I believe the Flyers played the way they had to play given the talent they have to compete. Now where I disagree with Torts the most besides his OT approach and the PP, is his use of veterans like Johnson and Staal post trade deadline. Sink or swim I would have like to see Torts play the kids as much as possible here so they can properly evaluate what they have going into the off-season. - jd250

It wasn't a reality this year and it was never at any point this year. Pure fantasy. Now your starting to hedge your bets. Slowly but surely. - MJL
this is false and pure fantasy. he was 100% a COY candidate. to say otherwise is wrong cliff. no matter how many times you say it. |

Torts teams are in shape by the end of training camp. EVERY SINGLE TEAM does bag skates in training camp and throughout the season. Torts makes it clear to all his players what to expect come training camp and the players are expected to come to camp in shape. Again, not an unreasonable request of a professional athlete. The Flyers have had good starts under Torts primarily because they come into the start of the season in shape and ready to play. This is a GOOD thing, not a bad thing. - jd250
Tortorella's over reliance on physical fitness and relying on intensity out of the gate to gain an early advantage has it's positives and negatives. We're seeing the negative currently.

But we all admit and agree that the Flyers don't have top end talent. Therefore they must expend more energy to win games compared to teams with top end players. Why is this a surprise to anyone? - jd250
LOL, it's not a surprise to everyone. It is to you though.

It's not a contradiction ... just because the Flyers have to expend more energy does not mean they are gassed. I have not seen signs that the Flyers are gassed. Banged up? Sure. Unlucky? Sure. But besides the Columbus game, the Flyers have been in all these games and in some cases dominated the game like in Buffalo. A gassed team cannot dominate games like that. - jd250
If you don't recognize that the Flyers are gassed. You either have blinders on or have no clue what you're looking at? Which is it?

Says the guy that said Owen Tippett is like Natahan MacKinnon - THE BLACK HAND Adults are having a conversation here. Why don't you go to your sandbox and play with your Tonka toys? You have the wit and personality of a fried ham sandwich. I'm gonna start referring to you as the gnat. Cause you are like one of those bothersome little gnats that keep flying around until I swat it to the ground. |

LOL. I did say that I believed that the Flyers were going to make the playoffs. I was not expecting them to lose 6 games in a row. We're you?
I've been telling you in direct response for months that Tortorella had no shot at winning the Jack Adams.

Torts was a close second behind Tocchet before this collapse ensued.

No, he was never a close second. He was never realistically in the hunt for the Jack Adams. The Flyers were hovering around .500 for most of the season. You don't win the Jack Adams for that. I told you this months ago.

Well that's not completely true. I certainly used factual information to form my opinion. I won't speak for you. It's my opinion that saying that they quit doesn't make any sense. Opinion or theory. Call it whatever you like.
