Neither you nor I operate on factual information. So, technically, both of us just have different theories. - missingmike
We're not exactly talking about a group of players who can afford to just mail it in over some gripes and have nothing to lose.
Lot of guys are playing just to stay in the league, lot of guys are trying to move up the lineup and there are a number of guys who's contracts are up soon.
Very few players on the team can afford not to give 110% right now just to stick it to Torts. |

No, he was never a close second. He was never realistically in the hunt for the Jack Adams. The Flyers were hovering around .500 for most of the season. You don't win the Jack Adams for that. I told you this months ago. - MJL Fake news right there. If the Flyers would maintained their pace he would have been a shoe in for runner up and very well may have given Tocchet a run for his money. At one point Torts had more first place votes than Tocchet.

The fake news is if he had done this, done that. The vote for the Jack Adams does not happen until after the regular season. For a reason. Hey, that rhymes. Can you tell me when was the last time that the winner of the Jack Adams was the coach of a team hovering around .500?

Gotta love how you now are throwing out that .500 number left and right. The reality is that he had a team that was picked by most pundits to finish near the bottom of the league in a playoff spot for a large part of the season and had they maintained that heading he would have certainly been nominee if not a very close second to Tocchet. Would have been very interesting to see how it played out, but I guess we will never know. |

There is no spin, what are you talking about? I provided facts. The vote for JA does not happen until the end of the season. Why do you think that is? Like I told you, he was never a serious threat to win the Jack Adams. I've been telling you that for months every time you brought up that fantasy when you didn't like something I said about Tortorella. I knew and I told you so. Repeatedly. Now you're trying to spin it as if he ever really had a chance. Pretty much every read I've had on Torotella is being proven true.

Well that's not completely true. I certainly used factual information to form my opinion. I won't speak for you. It's my opinion that saying that they quit doesn't make any sense. Opinion or theory. Call it whatever you like. - MJL

What would be really funny is if he STILL gets nominated despite them missing the playoffs.

My factual information can be found on various website such as naturalstattrick.com and NHL.com. The factual information on how the Flyers have played for most of the season and where they ranked in the standings can be found there.

You had that dream all along but that's all it was, a dream. I was living in reality. It's clear in our numerous conversations on this that I never sweated it. In fact I obviously laughed at it.

The moves chuckles made has set the team onto the path to contending for the cup
The performance of this team has made it clear to anyone who understands hockey that torts is the hands-down winner of the Jack Adams Award |

There isn't enough server space to post all of the absurd ridiculous opinions he has offered.
The best is the most recent one where the Flyers are above .500 because OT games don't count.

Agree with MJL...for awhile he had a team exceeding expectations but the award is based on a full season and he isnt in the top 10. Reality is they are a below .500 team only 8 points better than last year. Since they were so awful last yr being 8 pts better this yr is not exceeding expectations. Did they play better more competitive hockey this year Yes for most of the year but they had nowhere to go but up this year |

yes a full season. we are talking about a certain point in time. At one point torts was a legit candidate. to say otherwise is wrong. as many reporters and what not have also siad he was inthe running.
now today he is clearly 100% out of the running |

Yes, everyone knows where they are now, but that's not what is being discussed. He is saying that Torts was NEVER a threat to win the award and that simply isn't true. As I already mentioned, at one point Torts had more first place votes than Tocchet although Tocchet still had more points overall.

It is you that is missing the point. You don't seem to know what is being discussed. Tortorella was never a serious candidate to WIN the Jack Adams. Focus on what I actually have said. Tortorella is not going to WIN the Jack Adams award. Even if the Flyers make the playoffs. Notice that I've never said that he's not going to get any votes or won't be in the top 3. I said he is NOT going to WIN the Jack Adams award. You also don't seem to grasp that there is only one vote for the Jack Adams and that doesn't happen until the end of the regular season. You can look back and find all kinds of articles or blogs about who is the favorite to win the cup, to win the Hart trophy, to win the Norris. It's all just speculation. You continually tried to come at me with it but I just laughed at it. |
