Torts is probably at his half-life in terms of coaching the Flyers. If Brindy became available Jonesy and GMDB need to move to hire him immediately.

Yes it does, he can build a team under his vision. There is talent here, there is talent coming and with the Flyers having 10 picks combined in the next 3 drafts, I can see a coach like Brind wanting to come here.

Carolina has a lot of tough decisions to make in the off season.
8 UFA with half of that belonging to the defense. The other half are UFA after the next season.
3 RFA
And they will have to decide what they will do with Anderson.

Carolinas cap space can easily be taken up a few players.

I also like the trajectory that York took this year…to me he has to potential to be a really good #2….I wouldn’t have said that before this season.

pretty sure many know what direction they will likely take. Look to sign a top end dman and/ or center. Or acquire via trade. They may also now have to get a goalie which they may have not anticipated.

I respect this view, but why add 9 million in salary in dead weight over the last calendar year (Johansen and Petersen)? We cannot forget Briere had a deal in place to trade Sanheim for Krug- which would have been a clear downgrade. Krug said no.

I certainly understand the concern with not moving Laughton and TK yet. Rumor is TK may get surgery this summer, how does that impact a trade or extension? The overvalue of a 3rd line center on an okay contract has to end. I have no problem with the Tippett extension, Seeler ext very meh. Whatever the reason, Walker was not extended, which was the right move in a rebuild. I do not expect a JVR type siging in free agency. I do expect a trade for a center. There are a lot of RFA centers this summer. I would consider such a move towards a rebuild. I think they stand pat at goalie.

Rehab is great, day to day...so he will miss all of next year.

the talent is there, guess I am blind. they have average talent. they have nothing to offer over what pretty much every other nhl team has on their roster and in the system

10 picks in the next 3 drafts that likely wont be in the lineup before he is fired. what is the shelf life of a flyers head coach? so to me those picks not that relevant. maybe the 1st picks crack the lineup though wont be any diff makers.

Letting unknown backup goalies own us like they are hasek in his prime.
Allowing all players to reach milestone goals wins assists points
Trading away players and watching them immediately win the cup
Allowing Crosby and the pens to tap dance o. Our skulls.

yeah, I can't see the Canes letting him walk. One can hope!!

I won't say there isn't merit to "hitting the Torts wall", but losing 5-1 at home to Chicago and 6-2 to Columbus with Jet f@cking Greaves in net is a whole new level of suckage for this franchise.
