I dont know did he?
I do know he's lost in round 1 four of six seasons in the AHL... he didnt make the other 2. And the 3 he made with Minnesota he lost in round 1.
If the goal is to just make the playoffs, sure he seems like a good candidate. But I'd like to get there AND make a run. - DirtyDan
Go look at the dead cap money for Minnesota.
Dean has experience maximizing a team that is several million under the cap limit.
I'm not advocating for him as a top contender, only suggesting he did a quality job despite no playoff wins with the cap roster obstacle he had to deal with.

Kulich with two goals and Rosen has two assists through 2.
Savoie has 11 points in 6 WHL playoff games.
Whalberg has acclimated well to Rochester and looks great.
Ostlund just arrived.
What a time to be alive - Swedish_Jesus
How many of the players above will be difference makers in the NHL next season?
Zero.
How many will be difference makers in the NHL in the 25-26 season?
One? Maybe even zero?
By the time any of them are difference makers in the NHL, you'll have lost 2 more seasons on players like Tuch, Tage and Dahlin. |

I can see Savoie starting in the AHL, much like Stankoven did in his D+3 season. Like Stankoven, I would be surprised if he finished the season there.
I think both Kulich and Rosen will be ready next year also, only room for 1.
At the very least, Krebs and others seats are red hot going into next year |

savoie, power, benson, levi, peterka, 2024 first round pick for 2 years of mcdavid? - homiedclown
If he’s happy. Why wouldn’t he want to stay?
I would gladly give up Tage and a few guys you mentioned + picks |

if I was Adams, and I wanted to be the gm for a while
I would hire the best offensive minded coach he could get as long as
he gets the best d assistant coach, best goalie coach out there and pp coach that money can buy
then draft the best RD with pick 11ish
then trade for the best RD player you can find for a few years and the best middle 6 winger you can find for a few years
grab 2 true 4th liners that are pests to play against and well rounded pk guys
that leaves power and johnson for your bottom pair and keep whoever is the 2 best for injuries for the 7th and 8th d man
probably clifton and bryson and trading joker
hope a few of your kid prospects can score in the nhl with the right coach |

Id be shocked if they used the pick (barring a lotto win).
There are some names I like at that spot, but we already have the #1 prospect pool in hockey and need to win games now.
Go get your 3C or a top 4 d-man with that pick |

I think you could get trouba for joker, and 1 or 2 russian prospects
I wonder what Carlo would cost |

“The Sabres are believed to be interested in adding a top-six scoring winger and a third-line centre to their roster this off-season.
It is unclear who Adams may target, but after laying some groundwork at the trade deadline, he could pick up where he left off.

I was a year early with these ones.
I’ll give you credit for the pull though.
I won’t give you credit for cowarding in the corner though after mocking me about Detroit for weeks.
We’ll see if Sabresfan69 comes out of the closet at some point too - Swedish_Jesus
Detroit missed the playoffs because Philadelphia pulled the goalie with three minutes left in a tie game….

Detroit missed the playoffs because they pissed, poop, and puked all over themselves the last 30 games of the season. |

Spittin Chiclets on Owen Power:
"I don't know if [OP's] top end offense is... offsets the fact that maybe he doesn't need to be as aggressive and play as hard as a Moritz Seider across the ice. And I know you have to play your game...
Now they have Bowen Byram. So what is Owen Power?... Why the f*** are you handing over these types of contracts? If you're telling me after watching the type of season that Owen Power had, would you sign him to that same f***in deal? No, I would sign him to a bridge deal for two years at 5 million a year...
This isn't an opportunity to sh** on Owen Power. He's a fine skater. He lacks some defensive awareness. He doesn't protect the house as good as a Moritz Seider does. He doesn't have that physical element to his game...
Why would you pay somebody 8 f**in million dollars to just maybe doing what he's doing now?...

I think we as fans are, and maybe deservedly so, much more jaded and cynical than a prospective coach.
It's like hiring an employee. For a professional career, you're hiring a guy with little to no experience for an entry level (young/inexperience roster) position. As that employee gains experience, their expectation will be to raise the standard of pay (talented/experienced roster).
Experienced coaches have no reason to not want this job. Supposedly terry provides any funding necessary as requested by the GM. The GM is very easy to work with and staff go out of their way to say as much. Everyone values everyone's opinions. - TheSabresTaco
Not everyone's opinion within that org is worth being valued, or worse, appeased.
That's another problem that lingers. |

You already know the answer to your question.
Adams fires the coach and hires a new one.
They miss the playoffs again.
Adams is fired.
New GM comes in and keeps the existing coach?
He doesn't get to pick his own coach? |

How does trading for the best RHD that can be found result in Power playing on the 3rd pair? |

I don't disagree with the premise that OP may be overpaid next season.
Yet, at this time last season, OP was viewed as the 2nd coming.
I wonder what next season brings, especially if Adams hires a competent coaching who hires a competent staff.
I will say he plays an extremely soft game..that needs to change no matter. |

Bunch of Weak Minded players, I need someone to Teach me Consequences for my Poor play. Well I hope you all get that Wish. Way you all talk you will be crying craddled in the Corner if it does Happen. - Buff36
Depending on the coach next year is the same mindset as depending on Erik Johnson to stabilize the defense.
A strong core lifts up the group around them, it is not dependent on solutions outside the core. Rotten egg smell coming out of that building. |

Fabulous mentorship are esteemed Captain and Assistant Captain have given. Yes Donnie should have held these guys accountable and should have slapped there Pee Pee's Harder. But what kind of Lockeroom was Okposo and Girgensons running.
Monday Wednesday and Friday were Juice Box Days
Tuesdays and Thursdays were Special! The Captain brought in the Almond Milk and the Lion Eater brought in Home Made Raisin Cookies |

Yup. All that great leadership from Okposo, Girgs and Johnson really shinned through.
Whomever thought it was great having 2 over the hill 4th liners and a 7th D provide so called leadership to the team obviously has no clue what leadership looks like.
Furthermore, and once again... The proper leader of this team isn't on this roster. |
