There’s no guarantee at all that they’d be able to put an arena in even if they win the auction. The mayor of Scottsdale which the arena land neighbours said he has real concerns about the plan and that the development would need a lot of infrastructure beyond what is normally required. It would be 3 years anyway.

Besides renos, there’s a poop load of stuff that needs to get done in Utah - ticket sales, tv and radio deals, sorting out a schedule for a venue that hosts NBA and NHL, etc

My guess is a bunch of that stuff is being done behind the scenes or already done. The owner of the Jazz owns his venue, he won't have an issue helping create a schedule (which the NHL is already doing) and radio/tv won't have an issue cause they wanna make money. Sure there's lots of things to do but I don't see them as real obstacles.

Oh for sure Arizona wasn't making their deadline really for a new arena. I don't know why Bettman has kept insisting this team should stay there, the state doesn't seem to want them at all.

Keefe should just put Reaves on his line. Same job my cousin had for LA protecting Gretzky in the playoffs in 93’. He was a 4th liner but Melrose gave him a clear instruction to simply beat the living poop out of anyone who targets Wayne and it didn’t matter if he got kicked out of the game for it.
