I did not see what I like to see last night.
I like killer instinct. It's soooo hot.
When the Lightning were steamrolling the league during the Covid era, they would have curb-stomped a desperate Caps squad sporting a nobody goalie.
I want to see the Leafs do that - murder desperate teams fighting for the lives. Detroit was desperate and they had James mother(frank)ing Reimer in net. Leafs should have slaughtered them and Matthews should be sitting at 71g right now.
Leafs and Lightning were both facing desperate teams who had their backs against the wall, and both Blue and Whites failed in their task. Wings and Caps were ramped up a notch and playing playoff hockey. Leafs and Bolts were lollygagging around and it showed.
I hope both of them tighten up before these games start to count.

Leafs are in trouble if Sammy and/or Woll can’t come up with a civil performance. Got their hands full even if……… - Bullot
I'm more worried about the offense showing up to be honest.
Last season, in 5 games, we couldn't score more than two goals in any game against them. Hard to blame the goaltending in any playoff round loss in this recent era of the Leafs.

Agree that goaltending hasn't been the cause in recent playoff futility. Toughness was issue in both losses against the Panthers last season and Tampa the previous year. Not expecting a high scoring series. Keefe has to be better than he has been. He's been out-coached with regularity in the playoffs.
