I don’t root againgst them. I am rooting FOR WHATS BEST FOR THEM. Winning useless games to appease fans (“true fans” ) is bs! You have zero top talent. Mm yes in future. ZERO!!!
Yes they have draft capital. ADD TO IT!!! You are sacrificing adding to it by this fake season where teams stunk and stayed in playoff hunt while keeping players with value that could’ve added to draft capital. Could they still? Yes. Will they? Hopefully but history tells us they won’t because they are given a pass by “true fans” that accept mediocrity.
You know what sounds better than 10 picks in top 2 rounds (4 first) in next couple drafts? How about 12 or 13 or 14 and 5 or 6 or 7 first round picks.
So yes I root for the results that will hopefully help them see the light. And that’s not making playoffs.
Why do you and others except this fake season as exciting. A team is gonna make playoffs with less than 90 points. You know how often that happens? Never.
What you should have been enjoying this season is learning A LOT more about all the young guys and creaming your pants at all the draft capital they have ESPECIALLY if they moved tk laughts etc etc etc
You should’ve been been demanding a rebuild and proper path to top end talent. Instead you and others have been cockteased so bad you think she’s actually gonna come back into the room and finish you off.
And my “fandom” is 41 years and thousands upon thousands upon thousands of dollars invested into this team. So yes I get to cream my pants and them losing. Because I know it’s helping them. Hopefully…
I don’t think I can make it more clear than that - Stayin alive
this is your best post across all accounts hahahaha
I applaud you.
Hey, 1218 and SSB, he typed it out for me (sort of)

Again, the Seeler extension didn't thrill me, but RP? Why is that such a big deal? TK hasn't happened yet and I hope they have the sense that if he tries to break the bank they move on from him. - Phillywhiteout
Come on man if they resign tk we know he’s gonna break the bank. Same as coots did. It’s not all about just the money. It’s the term.
He’s not taking short term. It’s gonna be 8 years at least 8 mil per or more.
And yes the rp contract sucks. Because in this stage of team he takes ice time away from youngsters. You can’t simply look at the deal and say🤷♂️ well not a bad deal no big deal.

I don’t think I can make it more clear than that - Stayin alive I get what you're saying to a point, but I still don't understand why you had such a hard on about them missing when they were right on the doorstep. You think just missing the playoffs is gonna teach them a lesson as opposed to just missing? I don't. TK was never gonna be traded at the deadline and whp knows about Laughts. What would Seeler and RP get you? 3rd or 4th round picks at best? They look at Seeler as a glue guy and I don't have that much of a problem with the signing although it was a year or two too long IMO. I just wanna see what happens this summer and if it looks like the same ole same ole I will be there with everyone else. Oh, I went to my first Flyers game in 1976 (perhaps I'm the jinx). We were season ticket holders from 1985-2005 (saw some damn good hockey in those 20 years). I've invested plenty in this team as well, but haven't been to a game since the 2012 playoffs cause I don't accept mediocrity. By the way...that 3rd to last paragraph gave me a chuckle...she didn't come back to finish me off. |

(frank) this site. Typed whole thing out and it clears out. Missing out on playoff or even contending removes the option for them to use as excuse to not rebuild. And help better the draft capital.
The seeler rp waste ice time for players you need to find out about not only now but in near future.
The trade value of them adds to draft capital. The more the better. ALWAYS.
The narrative these players gained some valuable exposure with this run is bs. Who gained? What did York tip bee frost brink etc etc learn? Reduced ice for nd rp seeler coots cam Johnson etc etc etc
What would’ve been better is bigger role with ZERO expectation other than growing their game as pros. That comes with more ice time on a team with sole focus on that. That’s not what this season was. It was a lost season. Blame torts blame db blame many but that’s what it was. A waste.
And let’s see who plays big roles Tuesday. Last chance must win. If the kids learned all season surely they’ll play big minutes in key spots right?
We know that’s not what’s gonna happen. And for that I’m glad they aren’t making playoffs

Tk will be worse actually because you are stacking it into what will be 5 more years off coots when tk deal goes into affect.
Think about it you will have probably 17or 18 million tied up into coots tk. One washed up and one good but not great player well into 30’s
You can get away with a bad deal. Every team even cup teams have one or 2 but they are stacked with cheap elite talent etc etc add in all the other longer term deals. Risto sanheim etc and you’ll have no room to maneuver when time come of top end talent. It’s just a never ending cycle with this team. |

Again rebuilding team (or team without top end talent) should not be signing players that top out as “good” to 7 or 8 year deal. Unless maybe they are coming off elc and clear piece for future that fits a realistic competitive timeline. I’d much rather give York the 8 year deal than tk for example |

It would have been best to truly tank, but we all knew that wasn't gonna happen with Torts as the coach. I like Torts, but he probably isn't the right coach for a true rebuilding team. There was growth by some of the younger players (Foerster, York, Tippett...etc). I mean, the Flyers led the league in rookie goal scoring as of last week and they had a 24 year old goalie that was being billed as a potential rookie of the year candidate until he $hit the bed down the stretch. There is some good young talent here with a stud on the way and lots of draft picks. The Flyers were also easily the youngest team among the teams that were vying for a playoff spot (and that's with some old heads on the team). Gotta luck out on a couple of those draft picks and hopefully get some more top end talent. I just don't think it's all doom and gloom as many seem to think on here, but this summer is a huge summer for the new regime. |

I do agree it’s not all doom and gloom. A realistic rebuild consist of many layers. They do have some nice young piece to work with. And honestly down the line some of them should be used to further the team building toward contender. This summer absolutely is huge. And next. Can’t (frank) this up by giving long term deals out and not using draft capital wisely.
I do hold out hope because they were gifted mm but time is running out. And from what they’ve shown over last year since mm drafted I have very little faith they will make right moves unfortunately. We shall see soon tho |

Again, maybe. But there is a pretty distinct order of those layers. It's like a French recipe. You don't just stir everything in the pot in no particular order and stir.
So, I am afraid it is all doom and gloom.
