I hope Lavy doesn't start Rempe with the express intent of combating Wilson. If Rempe gets in because he feels it will be a boost to the team's energy or he thinks that Rempe is a part of the best lineup that he can put out, I'm all for it. But putting together a lineup because of who is on the other side is playing scared and the top seed in the league shouldn't be afraid of anybody, IMO.

I think Laviolette probably knows Wilson better than anyone in the building, very confident he knows how to handle him the best way possible

I agree and I think Lavy has earned the benefit of the doubt in putting the best lineup out each night. Just seeing people in here saying we need to play Rempe to keep Wilson in check feels like losing the battle before it starts.

the fact is that Wilson is a very highly paid member of Washington who has been very effective in the past when the Capitals were good, he can put the puck in the net
if Wilson is preoccupied with Rempe, its a win for us

What makes you think Wilson will be preoccupied with Rempe?

I get that to a certain degree but Wilson had 35 points this year. He'd be 7th on the rangers in scoring. I just don't see the need to alter our game plan/lineup to cancel him out.

Putting Rempe out there to "deal" with Wilson would be doing a favor to the Caps. Wilson can and will skate laps around Rempe. Secondly, that line with Protas, Strome, Wilson is pretty good... so were going to put our worst line against it? All because of Tom Wilson? That would not be wise. Wilson been in the league too long, he will bait a bad skating rookie like Rempe into bad penalties. People need some smelling salts and wake up. As entertaining as he is, hes probably the worst player on our active roster.
