Depends on the coaching staff and who they fill those blanks with.
The Fourth Period mentioned we were looking for a top 6 forward and 3C.
Could make sense to me, bumps Benson down with Skinner.
Vegas is in a cap crunch, Philly could be an interesting trade option too.
Free agency has a ton of available depth. Guys like Mantha and Stephenson are appealing.
Does Florida retain Sam ? If so do they move Bennett ?
There won’t be a shortage of options that’s forsure - Swedish_Jesus
last season adams should have gotten off his ass and made upgrades
this offseason he needs to, if he wants to be the gm long term
no more excuses from the owner, the gm, whomever the new coaching staff is, or any of the players
time to do your phucking jobs and work together to get it done |

Biggest part of this Offseason is what decent Hockey player doesn't say NO and is willing to come here. - Buff36
Expect huge offers for Kane and stamkos from Adams.
Kane dad thinks the Sabres are a poop show. So that is also another hurtle to get over |

It is going to be a rough ride next season as the roster figures out their collective poop including how to hold each other accountable without it turning toxic...another huge learning curve that could be handled better with someone who recently lead another team through it.
Stamkos anyone? |

The game day roster was Granatos and not Adams - Sabretooth9
Well he has to be on the Roster for more than 1 game for Granato to be able to do that. |

Dallas seemed to find a way to fit Stankoven this year.
When there is a will, there is a way.
Also injuries will play a role too. - Swedish_Jesus
Believe Stankoven took over the 3rd line wing duty for Dadonov, who they moved to the 4th line.
If you fill all the top 9 forward slots, the only chance for any of the prospects is an injury.
That or they continue to play Greenway above the 4th line, and they just move him down.
I sincerely hope they stop doing that. |

You either leave room for prospects to crack the lineup or you don't (and maybe injuries give the opportunity). Easy to push Jost out of the lineup, impossible to push Okposo out.

Listening to Baker + Fairburn. Girgs didn't talk to the media at locker cleanout. Strange move with all this talk about accountability. |

Can Adams convince the home town kid to come home on the second go around ?
Do they back up the brinks truck for Stamkos ?
In one offseason, Adams can go from skapegoat to solidifying his job for the next 5+ years.
Should be a fascinating next few months - Swedish_Jesus
Two years at $5.5-$6M per for Kane.
Three years at $7M per for Stamkos, aka the Pavelski. |

The way to make actual room for prospects next season is either planning on them taking spots right from the start of the season, or bringing in low level replacement level players to start the season, until one or more of the prospects are ready during the season.
They should do neither of the above. |

And I’m sure they won’t. I still think Kulich and Savoie will push regardless.
They are very good hockey players.
It’s a good problem to have, if they aren’t traded that is |

I agree that they'll push, but I don't see an avenue to one or both making the opening night roster with what's riding on next season. |

This is all just weird. What team doesn't plan on their 1st round pick making the team in year 3 or 4? A couple here with 2 strong AHL seasons.

Conversely, which of any of then have had seasons like Peterka or Quinn did before making the Sabres full time?
I agree with your point though, but it's a byproduct of them not really trying the past two offseasons. |

Well, they were having that season. Injuries are going to happen when you have kids playing in what is kind of a thug league.
