The players needed career years to get close to making the playoffs, does a new coach get 5+ (at a minimum) players to exceed their career years next season to get into the playoffs? - washedup20
Had UPL played the way he did this year the year before, we finish top 3 in the Atlantic.
We don’t need them to replicate those exact numbers they did last season, but they are surely more capable than what they showed this year. |

Pure troll take lol
At least be interesting or funny with it - ieetbred
109 hits combined in the game, 55 and 54 in a single game for each team...in game 1. Let's see what the next couple games bring.
The Sabres had a total of 1,787 over 82 games, for an average of 22 hits per game.
Nope, Playoff Hockey isn't different.
Nope, that game wasn't physical, it was all skating and speed...like it can't be both.
Horrible take Fitzie. |

He said the guy wouldn't be ready/effective for 4 -5 years.
4 years from now their pipeline will look different. - IonSabres
True, and if this was to happen atleast I am getting back a Decent player that is very good Defensively and can give me 50 or so points. Trade would help for the know and save 3.5mill on the Cap. I personally wouldn't do it cause I really like Yakemchuk. But I can see the thought behind it. |

Adams is the reason we aren't in, and he gets to try again. All we can do is pray he doesn't (frank) it up again this offseason - ieetbred
If they do ultimately hire Berube, not hiring him back in November is a huge blunder.
I do think they held on to Donnie as long as they did was because they wanted to take a swing at someone who wasn’t available at that time. Lindy, Rod, and maybe Sullivan if he gets the axe in Pittsburgh fit the bill |

The 11th pick should not be lumped into the discussion about the roster being seemingly jammed with little to no room for current NHL ready prospects. That is a current problem while the 11th pick likely a 3 -4 year in the future asset.
I certainly get and agree with it is time to leverage current NHL-ready players and prospects to upgrade the roster and release the pressure now. Where as the prospect selected in the 11th is a good asset to have down the road. |

Playing better doesn’t mean making the playoffs.
Combining stats from different seasons as justification things will go a better way in the future is absurd.
It’s not a stat or a better pp, the team is a group of losers. All your charts ignore that.
A new coach will have the full weight of this group of losers who have no identity on his shoulders with pressure to immediately provide winning results…you’re hoping for a coach carter type season next year. |

Piss away a season to try and get a guy who is already employed? Thats ridiculous but I suppose it falls in line with the way adams operates. Brindamour is the only hire I will submit to that theory
A handful of options were available at the time.
Any other hire now will make him look even more foolish for following up his awful offseason by again, doing nothing to help the team gain traction all season |

Okposo is a healthy scratch because there is no way he could’ve played against this speed
Grit is a thing of the past. Aka Jordan greenways and crouses of the hockey world are irrelevant - Sabretooth9

Really? Bad take for watching an insane amount of speed and skill on display.
Dang. I dumb - Sabretooth9
What seems to escape you, every freaking time, is that when people say they want a player(s) with grit, it means in addition to speed and skill.... It’s not that hard of a concept to grasp....but somehow it continues to elude you. |
