He's a pretty good player coming back, good on the Dot. Scores 50pt consistently and is in the Selke voting almost every year. If you want to dump him this year then it's not a bad deal. That's what I am saying Yes to. I personally would wait until the TDL or next offseason when his actual money owed drops significantly

I value the 11th overall pick in the upcoming draft more then I do a cap upgrade for a player who while he'd be a good fit, also would have lesser production as he wouldn't be getting 2nd line minutes here over Tage or Cozens.

Unless they take a different approach with Cozens (wing over center).

Yeah looking at the Sabres roster, they just need a player or two and they'll be all set here. 😆

Whoever they pick at 11 this year likely won’t see the NHL for 2-3 years, and likely won’t be an effective NHLer for 4-5. What are we doing here?

Continuing to keep the pipeline full so as players age and look for their "last big contract" at 30 /31 it would be time to say goodbye with a good player on an elc.
That allows a team to stay relevant in contention for longer periods.

So you're cool with using the 11th overall to get rid of Skinner's contract?

I'm not.

Using it in a deal to bring on a high quality player?

I'm definitely interested.

Sabres have a lot of ELC's already and are having trouble fitting them.

I was more just saying (frank) pick 11. I do think we can ice a winning team with Skinner on it though. I understand the argument against him, I just think there’s far more pressing issues.

Saying (frank) the 11th pick no matter seems shortsighted.

They have plenty of assets and money to use where the 11th overall does not need to be included.

Okposo is a healthy scratch because there is no way he could’ve played against this speed

You responded to a comment about trading the 11th overall, Skinner and Krebs to Philip Danault.

You like that deal?

How many 1st round picks do you want??

Walberg
Savoie
Oslund
Kulich

And we have so many others. Like Rosen just waiting

All waiting for NHL time eventually.

Not enough roster spots
The 11th overall pick would be better used for a top 6 forward trade.

I guess I haven’t sufficiently explained, I just do not give a flying frank about pick 11, or really anyone not named Dahlin or UPL right now for that matter. This franchise needs to progress.

Heading into year 5 of Adams tenure as the GM, good players do not want to play in Buffalo, there is nothing to show this is changing.

They also have the same problem they’ve had since Pegula bought the team, failure to build support around the core.

This core is also worse than the previous core, with an abundance of high draft picks and none have the intangibles the roster needs.
