I don't know, what I do know is Terry needs to pay just a little more to have the game broadcast extended to include the post game Coaches comments. Those were the best part of the game with Lindy.
"Well Jeff knows what he needs to do to get off the fourth line, if he doesn't, perhaps he'll see why when viewing games from the Press Box. We have talked about standards, practiced them and reinforced them through video sessions...stealing $9m just isn't acceptable...Terry's basically cheap."

This is sarcasm, right?

They almost always have the coaches post-game press conference on the broadcast after the game.

It's also broadcast live after every game on the Sabres Twitter account.

This is a get butts back in seats hire.

Cant help but think that Pegula has alterior motives to hiring Ruff outside of “good coach”

Edit - people already saying “cant wait to get tickets for the home opener”

- ImThatGuy

Maybe re: Pegula's additional motives, but make no mistake, Adams did not want to hire Granato.

He wanted others.

Wasn't his call then.

Did he really?

What time was that?

I want to go listen

- ImThatGuy

I don't know. Someone sent me a text that it had happened. I was wondering if anyone else heard it.

Lindy's 64 years old, now. I'm guessing age has slowed him down a bit. Not saying he won't demand accountability, but I'm not expecting the same yeller and screamer either.

To be fair, when he fired Kruger, there wasn't much out there. He went with next man up. Not to mention, the team was a laughingstock. Granato was always a more of a teacher than he was a coach, and it showed when there were actual expectations, but what he did for guys like Dahlin and Thompson cannot be understated.

Yup, last time we had a coaching opening. Veteran coaches left and right decline even interviewing for the job.

Sabres options were slim to none

He moved Thompson to center basically out of necessity once Reinhart was traded. It probably saved his career.

Why Donnie didn't get to hire his own full staff. It's the safe EASY move for Adams or Pegula more likely.
- Buff36

Sure seems like Donnie had heavy influence over player moves. Did he really have assistants he'd want? Seems like part of problem of the inexperience in the org. We know Lindy has his guys.

Imagine Chris Taylor or James Patrick could be back.

Expect Peca back as the associate head coach as well, apparently.

5th most wins in NHL history. I don't hate the hire. Would've liked Gallant, but I'm good with this. If he makes them work hard, they're going to win some games.

Unless something has changed, Ellis is being reassigned to another position in the org.

Good to hear.

Did they even interview anyone else for HC? Maybe a slight delay to see what happened with Sullivan?

Why? President Terry knows Lindy…. He listens to hockey on a bridge cause reception was bad. Zero reason to conduct a through search when your rink manager, sorry, “GM” has had 8 conversations and President Terry knows Lindy… this was a forgone conclusion…

Peca - Associate Head Coach
McKee - Defensive Assistant
kaleta - truculence Assistant

That’s what you are gonna get, cause that’s what President Terry knows….

Victor Olofsson confirms he'll leave the Sabres and go the UFA route trying to get a new NHL deal this summer. Says last season was a big disappointment and frustrating. Feels he can still contribute in the NHL.

Feel better about Lindy's guys than however we ended up with the previous group....and extended them when they were clearly lacking.
